If this becomes a new category I want to be moderator!! ;D. Here's my addition to the fun; Bananen Weitzenbier which is a mixture of white wheat ale and banana juice or nektar. It's sounds strange, but it's fantastic, the white wheat ale has a banana like nutty taste to begin with so, yeah, quite amazing. I used to watch this German music program when I lived in Europe and the host got drunk one day on this stuff, I didn't quite know what it was because I don't understand German. A couple of years later our paths crossed while I was trying to locate some video footage and he explained to me what it was. Poll time....

hA!! WE NEED A BEER FORUM

One of my faves is real Czech Budweiser, Cesky Budvar. No comparison to the stolen recipe American knock-off.
-
They have Czech Bud where do you get it?
-
I thought you meant Maccabi Beer. I got their shirt in Jerusalem in 1997.
In Israel the drinking age is 18 and they don't check for ID to buy alcohol in the supermarket. In Pennsylvania, supermarkets aren't even allowed to sell alcohol. There are special beer dealers and state stores for wine and liquor. But Jewish stores are exempt from the wine ban because it is for religious reasons.
That's like Fla

Spaten Optimator is my favorite.
I know its German, but its tremendous. 7.2% alcohol, very dark beer.
-

Czechs invented the stuff and have been in litigation with the American company forever. There are funny Czech TV commercials where the American representatives are in Prague for yet another round of legal battles and they are sneaking around drinking the real stuff!! The only place I know in NY that sells it is an international food market in Manhattan on 6th Ave between 55th & 56th st.[I think, definitely between like 54th & 57th]. Expensive but good. About $18/per 6. [In Czech; $4/ per 6!!!!]

I think Jersey too, I was in a 7-11 trying to buy beer in Jersey and everybody laughed at me :(, no beer :'(

I wonder what David's favorite is.
Don't tell me he's not a beer drinker.

I don'nt know but no one pays attention.I hate American beer i also hate Heineken
-
What's the drinking age in Florida?
I think the drinking age should be 16.
The driving age should be either 18 or 21.
-
A beer I'm really into now is Boddington's Pub Ale.
-
I don't know but no one pays attention.I hate American beer i also hate Heineken
My exact sentiments, American beer and Heineken suck. I don't understand the infatuation with Heineken.

Yeah, pup ales, bitters, stouts...anything served in English pubs is great.
-
Even Chaim said beer in moderation is healthy.
Czechs told me that beer is important after a greasy meal because it helps break down the fat.

Mass-produced American beer sucks. There are many fine micro-brews however.

YES!! The yellow can with the knocker inside!! I was going to add that to the poll but I didn't think it was popular at all. What a great thread!!!!

More than 150,000 people packed into Hayarkon Park in Tel Aviv on Tuesday for the Independence Day "Surprise Party for Israel," organized by Russian-born billionaire Arkady Gaydamak.
Since the venue opened to the masses, who had been queuing since the early morning, the crowd enjoyed a string of activities, shows and concerts and feasted on food and beer paid for by the billionaire businessman

Italian beer Peroni and Moretti are very nice beers.
A bottle of beer or a glass of wine a day is very good for your health just as long you do not make it into major habit. And you are right, Budweiser and Coors are just fancy colored water.
-
I used to drink Corona before the invasion.
-
I've had a HE'BREW before, found it in the Bay Area where the beer originated. It's good stuff. But the true Jewish beer is Maccabi, why wasn't it put on the list? I have one in my fridge right now waiting to be drunk a little later and after I'll read the official History of the Jewish Defense League written by Kahane himself. It was sitting in my mom's personal library all this time and I didn't even know it was there!

I'd love to try Maccabi. Never heard of it until now.

Ha ha, 2 dozen moderators spending all their time in the beer thread enjoying the suds, not paying attention, half erasing everyone else's comments!!! Chaim won't be happy!!! :D
