Nonie Darwish is a heroine and the Left despises here because she refuses to kowtow to the arab terrorist hand that covers the mouth of the Western media. The media, instead of resisting this kind of suppression, seems to enjoy it's own suppression. Look at the case of Naomi Wolf, whom I used to respect, who recently opined that Muslim women have the right idea by covering up. Can you imagine any American feminist, especially Naomi Wolf, celebrating an ethic that tells American women to 'cover up?' I cannot wait for the day when American feminists are called to task for their despicable silence on the subject of human rights for women in the Arab world. I will say again that Jewish women should also keep their hair covered and wear modest clothings. Tzniut is a very important trait in a woman. Women who dress immodestly don't realize the consequences of their actions. Overall I am against the modern feminist movement. While I believe that women are quite capable of doing many tasks I do think that they should first concentrate on their traditional roles. I do not blame women for the things which happen to them, but I would advise any wise Jewish woman to learn the laws of Tzniut and apply them to the modern world.
Tzniut never requires that women cover their faces with veils or burqahs.... The face must be visible because Jewish belief says that the face is the interface between a human and another human and we can tell alot about others by looking at their faces.
I do not go to places where women may dress immodestly... When I am in places where I have no control over who does what I usually walk around looking at the ground 3 feet in front of me lest I get a view of an immodestly dressed woman. Some men have immense issues of desire which often find an outlet in Internet porn and immodest chat rooms...
