I feel like it's time for another one.
So for any of you non-New York people who might be in town in May (or June) please send me a private message. I want us to all meet.

It'd be cool if there was another call in or Pal Talk room or something :)
-
I have no idea how Pal Talk works. I could bring my mini-laptop. But it's so small that I have trouble typing on it with my large hands.

How did the telephone link work out that we had at the last meeting?

It was lots of fun actually :)
I couldn't really hear the other people besides Chaim and Lisa much though, just a little bit.

I would but I don't think I could go. New York is an awfully far place from where I live.

The phone was down by Chaim,Lisa and actually it was right across from me also. The table is sort of rectangular so it would be hard to hear some of the people on the far end of the table. The place is also quite busy so there is also background noise to deal with.

Yeah, we only heard you on occasions, Rubystars... it was quite noisy it the pizza shop!

I could bring my regular larger laptop, I suppose. Do I need to have Skype? How much is Skype anyway?

OK, I just downloaded Skye a while ago. However, I'm unable to connect to the service to set up a user name and password. There's also a service called Ekiga, which is for Linux, but I think it's for Windows as well. I dowloaded a few other ones, but I don't think I set them up properly. Has anyone ever heard of Wengophone?

Hi Zelhar,
I managed to download and install Skype. However, I'm having trouble connecting to it. It's not letting me sign up with a user name and password. I get this error message about my network, and to check my network connections.

Hi Lisa, do you have problem just with skype or with any messenger application ? Ekiga is supposed to be available for linux (in fact it is originally a GNOME app). But maybe you need to open some ports for skype (or other messengers) to connect. http://www.skype.com/help/guides/firewalls/technical.html I suppose in your case if there is a firewall blocking skype it may be a router's firewall.
