Title: Young Moroccans Jews speaking Arabic instead of Hebrew?
Post by: Trumpeldor on May 10, 2007, 01:04:09 AM: I was on a bus recently and some young Moroccans sat down near me- probably high school age. Assuming they are Jewish, is it odd that they were speaking Arabic and not Hebrew?

Post by: Dominater96 on May 10, 2007, 03:20:30 PM: Im a Syrian Jew, but dont speak arabic. Most of my friends do though, the newer ones to the country speak it better then their english, and hebrew. I speak English and hebrew, and not a word of arabic.

Could be, but it was a heavily Jewish area.

Yes, its very different from Libyan Arabic.

Ah Yes, iam i have lived in Libya for 9 years, but we hid our Jewishneess lol
