I was on a bus recently and some young Moroccans sat down near me- probably high school age. Assuming they are Jewish, is it odd that they were speaking Arabic and not Hebrew?
-
Im a Syrian Jew, but dont speak arabic. Most of my friends do though, the newer ones to the country speak it better then their english, and hebrew. I speak English and hebrew, and not a word of arabic.

Maybe they weren'nt Jewish

Could be, but it was a heavily Jewish area.

Maybe one of them didn't know hebrew and the familiar language was arabic. Moroccan dialect is extremely heavy moreover shouting then talking.
