PHOENIX (AP) — A man leaving a private club in Phoenix was shot and killed early Saturday after getting into a confrontation with another man.
Phoenix police Sgt. Steve Martos says the man left the club near 16th Avenue and Grant Street at about 5 a.m. with two friends and began talking to some women. The suspect apparently took offense and confronted the victim and his friends.
The men got in their car and were preparing to leave when they stopped and began talking to another group of women. That's when the suspect drove up in his car and opened fire.
The victim returned fire but the suspect drove away. The man who was shot crashed his car and was taken to a hospital, where he died.
The victim is in his 30s but was not identified by police.
Police released only a vague description of the suspect.
