Title: Al Qaeda targetting Royal wedding

Looks like security is going to be drum-tight

If the top tier of Royals was removed, is there a line of succession from the lower tier? Or if no suitable/worthy candidate is found, could that spell the end of the UK as a Kingdom?

The UK will always be a monarchy. It's not so much by necessity but by tradition and the will of the people there.
