Is there a program that can make the sound from an audio or video clip louder than it currently is? Any input that can potentially answer this question and even better yet find a solution, would certainly be appreciated.

1. Download an audio editor program. One freeware program is Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/). Go to the Audacity website and select "Download Now." Click "Save File" to download the .EXE file.
2. Install the audio editor. Double-click on the .EXE file and select "Run." Agree to the terms of service, select a destination location, create a desktop icon, and click "Install." Click "Finish" to automatically launch the program.
3. Add the audio file. Go to the "Project" menu and select "Import Audio." Browse for the audio file and click "Open."
4. Increase the audio. Go to the "Edit" menu and click "Select > All." Go to the "Effects" option and click "Amplify." Set the amplification volume and click "OK." Go to "File" and select "Save as" to save your work.

Mishmaat, thank you very much for the information regarding the ' Audacity' website. I downloaded the site a few hours ago and will attempt to use it in the coming days. I will let you and the others know how this turned out. It potentially could be helpful regarding some " Ask JTF" programs from late 2008 and early 2009 in which the audio wasn't as loud as the programs before and after that time frame.

mord, thanks for your input.
I checked all of the sound and audio devices on my computer. But even at the highest volume level on my computer, these particular sound files that are from a digital camera, the sound just isn't loud enough. The program that Mishmaat mentioned is probably the only realistic hope at being able to make the sound loud enough from those files in order to share the files publicly. Including on ZooTube.
