I convinced my gentile friend to get a circumcision when he was around 16, it took lots of persuasion.  As I remember, he felt pretty good after the operation and he was fully healed after just a few short weeks.  He told me that it's easier to have it done at a later age.  I'm just curious as to whether it was performed by a regular surgeon or if it was performed by a mohel.

I am Christian and had mine circumsized after a few days born.  It also is much healthier for boys as they get older to manhood years.  When the day happens that I am ever blessed with a son to carry my name, he will have the same.

Why would you tell your Gentile friend to get it done?

Mainly for health and appearance reasons.  There are millions of circumcised gentiles, there's no harm done in convincing another one.  Also this was when I was around 15 and before I knew anything about the covenant.

My parents were going to circumsize me when I was a baby, but the person who was going to do it was from some 3rd world country. So my father did not allow it. Thats what my mother said to me.

Wait - I still don't get it.  Why didn't you keep Avigdor?

Mazel Tov.  I also want to know how difficult it is to have it done as an adult.
