Executiver Director Yossi Schwinger of Israel's holy sites told the Knesset Committee on Public Petitions, Monday, that his agency had invested seven million shekels in improvements at the tomb of biblical matriarch Rachel, between Jerusalem and Bethlehem. Thousands are expected to visit the site in about two weeks to observe the anniversary of Rachel's death.
Schwinger said, "Whoever comes this year won't recognize the place." Referring to the threat of attack, he added that, unfortunately, one cannot take the words of security officers lightly, but he invited the public to come with patience and happiness.
