There is a tourist ad with the former Miss Israel in a bikini. It's a very hot picture. I wish there were more hot Israeli women (Jewish of course) like this one. The ad is for the Israeli Consulate in New York City. What do you think about this?

I didn't think that she was that great.
However, I think it is true that on average Jewish girls tend to be attractive. I have noticed that and I think every male on the forum has.

The reason the picture was there was to try to display a positive idea of Israel by showing Americans what they respond to best, scantily clad women! It is part of a propaganda campaign to try to show Israel in a better light to the young Americans who read Maxim magazine. Is it disgraceful, YES! There's nothing wrong with showing beautiful women in my opinion, but it is disgusting to prostitute women in order to try to prove to the world that Israel is an appealing country

My friend, I think modesty should apply to all women, not only Jewish.
In medieval Europe, men used to die for a lady, write poems, devote life to them, because women were women then.
Today, women retained the face of a woman, and obtained the soul of a man - they curse, they smoke, they drink, they sleep around - and deserve nothing more than a $20-bill.

This ad campaign is classic Jews trying to be loved and accepted by the nations of the world instead of keeping the covenant.
It's like "Hey look, we got hot women in bikinis just like you guys".

It's just another hot-looking Maxim chick to me. It doesn't bother me and really pleases my eyes, but I'm not surprised in the least that some or many of you have a problem with this.

Maxim is a moronic magazine... yet another soft-core sleazepot, a (very) second-rate Playboy. A wannabe, a pretender through and through.
I do think in general pornographers should be executed, and I think Maxim's publishers should be too, but not for the same reason, but for being such idiots and putting out such a worthless product. You know, to weed some undesirable genes from the pool. ;)

Immodesty is one of the main causes in the destruction of society, it may be considered a minor sin but once one rule is broken, the rest follow suit like a pack of dominoes.
Yacov, you said jewish women should wear skirts, does that mean trousers are excluded even when not too tight or worn with quite a long lengthed top?

Yes but they aren't because a woman wears pants that are designed for a woman, they are not wearing mens styled clothing or mens clothing itself, because it is womens clothing for women only. You can distinguish a pair of trousers for a man and woman, quite easily. It says in the Torah don't cross dress and i assume that is directly referring to men who are transvestites and dress like women and women who do the same thing as well.

We really shouldn't need to use immodestly dressed women to get people come to Israel. It's a shame that the fact that it's in the Torah doesn't seem to matter anymore.

You are mistaken that there aren't more Israeli women like that. Many Israeli women are very attractive. I used to love to look at all the women in Israel. And the way the woman was dressed in the ad is very common among Israeli women. They walk around half naked. I got sick and tired of every single non-religious woman in Israel walking around like that so I decided I only like the way religious women dress (Even before I cared about it for religious reasons.). I think it's stupid the way they walk around exposing their stomachs with stupid gay belly button earrings (Which is way more common in Israel than The United States, unfortunately.). I used to think it was okay if women showed neckline or shoulders but now I think they shouldn't do that either.
I think it's shameful that The Israeli Government advertises Israel with an immodestly dressed woman.
They want to be like the sluts in the US. They don't realize that they shouldn't be trying to imitate sluts.
As some true conservatives would say, that type of dress should only be for when a husband and wife are alone in private.
As for bathing suits, they should wear one-piece suits. Two-piece suits are less healthy; they give less protection to the skin.

A woman in a bikini doesn't bother me all that much when one considers all of the abominable pornography and sodomy that is allowed to go on in the Holy Land. I agree this campaign is stupid and in poor taste, but it just isn't worth a battle in my opinion.

I actually think showing that girl in the picture was a good idea. Do we want to be like a muslim country mutilating the genitals of 6 year old girls? I think that picture is not even worth arguing about, it's the least of our problems. I am a bit surprised that they didn't show a gay couple or something like that because that is right up their alley.

I'm sorry but being modest and opressing are two completely different things. In fact a country who dresses and acts modest yet at the same time is free and powerful, would have utmost respect.
Once immodesty begins and spreads..........the rules of religion will slowly be disregarded.

The truth is that any bathing suit is immodest. That is why there are separate beaches in Israel.

Whenever i used to go swimming, i wore a t-shirt and cropped trousers or shorts. I would wear a swimming costume underneath so that it was comfortable.

I would imagine it's rather difficult to move around with ease in a Pool with such dense attire !! I do applaud you're attempt of decency, just don't know how pragmatic it is !! 8)

Well in the sea, i only swim in womens hour at the pool so i just wear a swimming costume. Wearing a light weight cotton t-shirt ontop doesn't weigh you down too much but it sometimes sticks to you when wet and its purpose becomes almost pointless.
With the shorts, yes they are annoying quite often especially when they decide to blow up and float in the water! :D
However when there are waves, golden sand and a beautiful sunset, then one doesn't notice at all. :)

I don't care what anyone wears at the beach or jap bath house. What's appropriate for bathing and what's appropriate for main street are two different things.

Even wearing a very conservative outfit and with no or minimum make-up that same beautiful girl will attract me more than an ugly looking girl walking naked.
Thus a model like looking girl does not need to be in a bikini in order to be attractive.
Look at the advertisement of Singapore Airlines. They have good looking stewardesses, but all of them wear conservative national dresses.
