I transcribed the lyrics of this song... I may have gotten some words wrong... but..
Misrepresented Misunderstood I wish you would take a second to look inside you know you should
thousands years of pressure still my people we stood right in the face of danger and we got the goods.
Every generation marched like staccato from Moshe dealing with Pharoah to the strength of the Marrano
You'd assume every yid won the lotto, but we've been through the sorrow 'Ein Ode Milvadoh'
But now we facing the problems of all this misdirection, in the fold we've been sold on self misconception
spaced out of our mind, with no detection, given the tree of life, but its not our selection.
What happened to the knowledge, selfworth and pride? With nations we coincide but kept the Torah to survive.
I refuse to bow down to falsehood. recognizing who i am, its all good
you can paint the world and distort the picture.
but you cant change nothing bout me
im gonna rise despite what you do
cause im a lubab, litvish, breslov stremmel wearin Jew.
you can tell the lies which make up the truth
but you cant say nothing bout me
at the end of the day i wont lose
cause im yemenite ethiopian bucharian jew
and i was chillin just the other day
when somebody asked me about the things I say.
i told em im not steppin feet of nobody else
but how can we do a mission without no knowledge of self
i cant reunify you without reunifying me
thats why i spend my time trying getting folks to see
the common consesus is not what were supposed to be
the essence of a jew is not what you see on tv.
now ive been on both sides of these pages
from fighting through the rages
to studying the sages
and i can tell you there is only one way
give it a chance today the blessings will come ok
we dont got to trust noone but G-d
when you do that its easy to see the facade
cause with the maker always expressing truth
ask all the others like me what it means to be a...
you can paint the world and distort the picture.
but you cant change nothing bout me
im gonna rise despite what you do
cause im a black white, burmese asian, mexican jew.
you can tell the lies which make up the truth
but you cant say nothing bout me
at the end of the day i wont lose
cause im sefardi, ashkenazi, syrian Jew
Who taught the world there was one G-d alone?
Who made the technology in your cellphone?
Who are those prophets you always like to quote?
Who put together color tv with remote?
who were the slaves that G-d freed to give the bible to?
Who invented the microphone that im ryming through?
Who spreads light to everybody in the world?
Who sits and prays for some peace in return?
You can be proud of who you are, and act accordingly...
It dont matter what they say, they cant deny the role we play, remember that..
Always been here, always will be here... to the very end... to the last day
you can paint the world and distort the picture.
but you cant change nothing bout me
im gonna rise despite what you do
cause im a lubab, litvish, breslov stremmel wearin Jew.
you can tell the lies which make up the truth
but you cant say nothing bout me
at the end of the day i wont lose
cause im yemenite ethiopian bucharian jew
you can paint the world and distort the picture.
but you cant change nothing bout me
im gonna rise despite what you do
cause im a keep on living, stay driven, im proud to be a Jew
you can tell the lies which make up the truth
but you cant say nothing bout me
at the end of the day i wont lose
cause im make it to the end, stay strong, proud to be a Jew!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1oNgS7o14Pg
(http://www.chabad.org/media/images/74/tunU748521.jpg)
Translation:
Lord of the universe, Who reigned
before anything was created —
at the time when by His will all things were made,
then was His name proclaimed King.
And after all things shall cease to be,
the Awesome One will reign alone.
He was, He is,
and He shall be in glory.
He is one, and there is no other
to compare to Him, to consort with Him.
Without beginning, without end,
power and dominion belong to Him.
He is my G-d and my ever-living Redeemer,
the strength of my lot in time of distress.
He is my banner and my refuge,
my portion on the day I call.
Into His hand I entrust my spirit,
when I sleep and when I wake.
And with my soul, my body too,
the Lord is with me, I shall not fear.

The 'Tree of Life' song which I posted above contains strains of the 'Eitz Chaim' song which we all sing after we do the Torah reading, when returning the Torah to the Ark...
Here is an original rendition of it recorded of a vinyl album:
Eitz chayim hi la-machazikim ba
ve-tomcheha me'ushar.
Deracheha darchei noam
ve-chol netivo’teha shalom.
Hashiveinu Hashem eilecha ve-nashuva,
chadeish yameinu ke-kedem.

#4 - Eitz Chaim
It is a tree of life for those who grasp it, and its supporters are happy.
Its ways are pleasant and its paths are peaceful.
Bring us back, Lord, to You, and we will return;
renew our days as of old.

http://www.hebrewsongs.com/?song=atakadosh
YOU ARE HOLY
There are many paths we travel,
To seek a drop of truth.
I didn't hesitate to nibble
At the delicacies of sin.
We couldn't discover
a single taste to ignore.
This culture wasn't for us,
It was a fire in our hearts.
And I am the child,
The least of everything,
I stand here trembling and amazed.
And I am the child,
The last in the nation,
I stand here flustered and thrilled.
Because you are holy
And your name is holy
Holy every day,
You will be praised, selah!
The temporary material is wasted,
The instinct of the snake is to lie,
When I close my eyes,
Finally the truth becomes clear.
It difficult to comprehend common sense,
And imagination is disappointing as well,
But there is a Leader to do the job,
And He loves us.
And I am the child...

Yosef Karduner singing Tehillim/Psalm 121...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fNpErJ_C5k
1. A song for ascents. I shall raise my eyes to the mountains, from where will my help come?
2. My help is from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
3. He will not allow your foot to falter; Your Guardian will not slumber.
4. Behold the Guardian of Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
5. The Lord is your Guardian; the Lord is your shadow; [He is] by your right hand.
6. By day, the sun will not smite you, nor will the moon at night.
7. The Lord will guard you from all evil; He will guard your soul.
8. The Lord will guard your going out and your coming in from now and to eternity
Yosef Karduner singing with Rabbi Lazer Brody Psalm 23:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-YBa9AoSveI
1. A song of David. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2. He causes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside still waters.
3. He restores my soul; He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name's sake.
4. Even when I walk in the valley of darkness, I will fear no evil for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff-they comfort me.
5. You set a table before me in the presence of my adversaries; You anointed my head with oil; my cup overflows.
6. May only goodness and kindness pursue me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for length of days

This IS my favorite Matisyahu song 'Exaltation' :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kFf696CBvQ
Exaltation, my G-d of salvation
The field and there in will be filled with jubilation
The lord reigns will be proclaimed amongst the Nations
We don't have no time for patience
Heavens rejoice and the earth will exalt
Oh no, come swing back like a catapult
The sea and its fullness will roar
He is our help and our shield our soul yearns for the lord
Burning G-d of Yaacov everlasting stronghold
Break down the door I can't hold back no more
Wait all night long, until the early morning
Like night watchmen wait for the dawning
Chorus
Arise, be our help
Place my trust in your kindness
It's a must hoping in the G-d of deliverance
Since way back when before time began
Existing eternally, everlasting, rejoice in the name of his majesty so we sing
Chorus
Chant sweet melodies, utter hymns and sing praise to his name
For he's alone exalted holy,
Performing mighty deeds and making new things,
Sowing righteousness and creating healing
He spoke, the world came into being
Master of praise, renews each day
Redeems and saves, continuously, blessed is his name
Making great lights, creating luminaries
Abounding in mercy
Won't you grant me?
Understanding
To perceive, all the teachings in your Torah of love, existing eternally, lead me

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPuU-iTIFoI
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_RyWwHNM6c
You quench my thirsting soul and you fill my appetite
I give myself to you 'cause you treat me right
I put my trust in the world and the world gets tight
Shift my trust to you it's like a crystal clear night
Expand in all directions get the sections to unite
Hashem's rays fire blaze light my way light of my life
And these days well wait no longer night
reaching for my God like skyscrapers in the night
I said I know its hard inside is empty galus (exile) cuts like a knife
Internalize torah vibes bound to feel alright
Chorus:
Whirlwind of praise from below to above
Take flight in the sky got wings like a dove,
We're Soaring to shamayim (sky) where the angels call in love
Where the glory of Hashem fits like a glove
Hashem rules the world and Israel is his wife
Love you yes my God with all my heart my soul and my might
When I feel you by my side yes I'm flying like a kite
You open up my eyes and give me sight
Super energized everyday you give me life
I seen the ways of the world intoxifying on pride
Young man don't you know drugs impurify your mind
When Israel left mitzrayim four fifths got left behind
If you got no water how you gonna survive
Roots lead you to the well springs so you could stay alive
Pharaoh claimed to be a God and claimed to make the Nile
A crocodile could smile and show his teeth
You could see beauty shines externally but that's the story of Greece
But inside America bleeds, Israel won't you get up from your knees
Its just lies in disguise Torah's truth won't you please realize
Given to the humble one on Mt. Sinai
Chorus
Shma Y'sroel, Hashem Elokainu, Hashem Echad
(Hear Israel, the lord is our God, the lord is one)
The world could just crumble to dust its just us it's not two it's just one
The middle road called truth, Torah yes you sooth my brain bruise
Open up peruse with knowledge of God
And move up an arousal from below till the secrets start to ooze
Don't snooze it's pure light the most high wants us alive
What's the proof?
We got life!
Chabad philosophy that's the deepest well-spring
Gaining knowledge of God while your gaining money
Fill up yourself with the light of his majesty
In a world of separation that's the only way to be
It's time we leave we won't flee just walk out easily
It's time we leave we won't flee just walk out easily
If you got no water how you gonna survive
Roots lead you to the well springs so you could stay alive
If you got no water how you gonna survive
If you got no water how you gonna survive
Chorus

Raw stuff from Golgolot. Thx muman
the "deep voice" as you described is called screams. No grunts or growls. It's done to show atmosphere in the music which is what Black Metal consist of in the first place. It is cold sounding, grim, forests, mountains.
Type "Freezing moon" on youtube and you will understand.
It is not beauty. It's not a sunflower or a rose. It's a dark theme atmospheric art.

"Lock And Key"
I don't want to face the killer instinct
Face it in you or me
We carry a sensitive cargo
Below the waterline
Ticking like a time bomb
With a primitive design
Behind the finer feelings
This civilized veneer
The heart of a lonely hunter
Guards a dangerous frontier
The balance can sometimes fail
Strong emotions can tip the scale
Don't want to silence a desperate voice
For the sake of security
No one wants to make a terrible choice
On the price of being free
I don't want to face the killer instinct
Face it in you or me
So we keep it under lock and key
It's not a matter of mercy
It's not a matter of laws
Plenty of people will kill you
For some fanatical cause
It's not a matter of conscience
A search for probable cause
It's just a matter of instinct
A matter of fatal flaws
No reward for resistance
No assistance, no applause
Don't want to silence a desperate voice
For the sake of security
No one wants to make a terrible choice
On the price of being free
I don't want to face the killer instinct
Face it in you or me
So we keep it under lock and key
We don't want to be victims
On that we all agree
So we lock up the killer instinct
And throw away the key

Sorry Noachide! The meaning of this song is against one of the Noachide laws!
-
I would hope that anyone who posts songs here would consider the content.
The original thread was meant for 'Pro-Jewish' music not just all music.... As this is the Torah and Jewish Idea forum I would like to keep things to Jewish related and more religious natured music.
I posted the Rush song because of its morally correct view towards the killer instinct.... And besides Geddy Lee is Jewish...
I like the Doors and my ex-wife was friends with some of the Doors members. But I agree that the song which was posted alludes to a sexual practice which is frowned upon by the Jewish religion {and it may violate the Noachide laws as Ephraim suggested}...

Hey Tag! I was real happy when I saw you added to the thread, but then I realized you were making fun of it. In one breath you talk about how all Jews need to come together,(which i'm not a Jew) and in the next breath you attack other Jews for their beliefs. I have been nothing but nice to you. If you have something to say then say it! If I’m wrong please correct me!
Whatt? What are you talking about? I just posted the video with no intent of making fun of you or anything. Its a cool song that I kinda got hooked on the last couple of hours since I heard it at first and wanted/want to share.

I’m truly sorry for over reacting. You used a smiley pointing a finger and laughing. I thought you were making fun of the thread. I’m sorry I’m so defensive. Please add more! Sorry!

I do not think he intended anything negative by posting this. Uncle Moishe is famous for Jewish music aimed at children... I think his selection was another good example of pro-Jewish music..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncle_moishy
Uncle Moishy and the Mitzvah Men is a Jewish American children's edutainment group based in New York City, featured in audio and video releases, as well as appearing live in concert.[1] Their tapes, CDs and videos are sold in most Jewish music and Judaica stores.
Uncle Moishy has traveled internationally, giving shows in Israel, Canada, England, Austria, South Africa and Hong Kong. [2][3][4][5]
Lead musician and singer Moshe Tanenbaum is a Hasidic Orthodox Jew who stars as "Uncle Moishy" who leads his "Mitzvah Men" in song and verse that expresses the observant religious lifestyle of Orthodox Judaism.[6] They focus on the religious aspects of Judaism that most easily relate to young children, such as the laws of Shabbat, kashrut and the giving of charity, as well as the good deeds of Ethics of Our Fathers, such as helping others and being nice.[7]
Uncle Moishy is not Tannenbaum's main occupation, and when not entertaining children, he works as a wedding and portrait photographer.

I learned about Yossi Piamenta from IsraelNationalNews...
http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/153100#.T03Qft5SQYo
In downtown Jerusalem, tucked in between a mini-market, a post office and around the corner from McDonald's is Blaze. The small club is known for its open mic nights, metal nights, and sports broadcasts. But now, every Sunday is known as Yossi Piamenta night. Stray metalheads and sports fans mix with yeshiva students, American immigrants and on some nights, members of Yossi's family. They have all come to see the middle-aged Israeli man with the big colorful kippah and big grey beard shred super fast guitar solos backed by swirling Sephardic rhythms. After living for 32 years in the United States, Piamenta seems to have settled back in his hometown.
On stage, most of the tunes are original compositions or new arrangements of classic Jewish tunes. There is an occasional cover such as Kol Hamesameach, Piamenta's Jewish version of Tarkan's Turkish Kiss, but with Hebrew lyrics and a ripping guitar solo. And of course there is Asher Bara, Piamenta's Jewish version of Men At Work's Down Under but with Hebrew lyrics and a ripping guitar solo.

By the way...
We have just entered the month of Adar. If you are familiar with the Jewish calendar the month of Adar is the time we are supposed to increase our Simchah/Happiness. When the month of Adar begins we are told that we should become happy, because it is a good time for happiness. But we are also told that we should decrease our happiness in the month of Av, the month during which both of our Holy Temples were destroyed.
http://www.torah.org/learning/yomtov/purim/5757/vol2no28.html
The Month of Adar
A Month of Happiness
by Rabbi Yehudah Prero
This year being a Jewish leap year, the second month of Adar begins on Sunday night, March 9, 1997. The Gemora (Ta'anis 29a) tells us that "Just as from when the month of Av enters, we minimize our happiness, so too from when the month of Adar enters, we increase our happiness."
The K'sav Sofer explains the connection and comparison that the Gemora makes between these two months. In the month of Av, both of our holy temples were destroyed. The nation of Israel was exiled in Av. Many horrific tragedies befell the Jewish people in the month of Av. For this reason, Av is always a month of sadness. Even in times when Jews are not oppressed and they can practice their religion without any hindrance, the month of Av remains a month of sadness. In Av, we minimize our happiness not because we are mourning our physical state in exile. We minimize our happiness because we recognize the pain and suffering that our souls experience because we are in exile.
In Adar, the nation of Israel was saved from annihilation. Jews who lived throughout the empire of Achashverosh were faced with certain death. Through a miraculous turn of events, this threat was removed and the Jews were saved. There was celebration everywhere. The Jews at this time renewed their commitment to observing the Torah. It was a time of overwhelming happiness. During the month of Adar, we do not rejoice because we were physically saved from death. We rejoice because our souls experienced a redemption: the Jews were threatened with death as a punishment for their sins, and because they repented, they were saved. The Jews did not only repent for their sins; they raised their commitment to G-d and the Torah to new levels. It is for this spiritual redemption that we celebrate throughout the entire month of Adar. Just as in Av, when we mourn because of our spiritual loss, we celebrate in Adar because of our spiritual gain.
The Chasam Sofer notes that the law "When Av enters we minimize our happiness" is codified by the Rambam in his Mishneh Torah. However, the law "When Adar enters we increase our happiness" is not mentioned. The reason for this, Rabbi Sofer explains, is that in Av, there are physical manifestations of our mourning. One can not conduct weddings, and one cannot build or plant for certain festive purposes. These actions can be codified. The increase in happiness we are to experience during Adar has no mandated manifestation. We are supposed to feel a great happiness in our hearts during the month of Adar. This is the extent of the law, and this call to increase our feelings of joy can not be codified.
During the month of Adar, we should all strive to feel this happiness. It should truly be a month of joy for all and for all time!
It is also a very famous saying of the great Rabbi Nachman that it is a mitzvah to be happy...

JOY: It is a great mitzvah to be happy always!0
September 8th, 2011, In Articles, by Chaim Kramer
“Serve G-d with Joy!” (Psalms 100:2).
Rebbe Nachman teaches: It is a great mitzvah to be happy always.
Strengthen yourself to push aside all depression and sadness. Everyone has lots of problems and the nature of man is to be attracted to sadness. To escape these difficulties, constantly bring joy into your life – even if you have to resort to silliness (Likutey Moharan II, 24).
Joy is the hardest of all levels to attain and maintain (Rabbi Nachman’s Wisdom 20). When contemplating our daily pressures and workloads, this is very easy to understand. Happiness is not specified in Torah as a separate mitzvah. Yet, throughout the Talmud, Midrash and Kabbalah, joy is given centrality in all areas of Judaism. The renowned Safed kabbalist, the Ari (Rabbi Yitzchak Luria, 1534-1572), asserted that he attained his exalted spiritual level only because of the great joy with which he performed the mitzvot (Sha’ar HaKavanot, Shemini Atzeret). Indeed, not many of the subjects discussed in Breslov literature receive the detailed attention given to joy and happiness.
Reb Avraham Chazan commented: If Rebbe Nachman taught that it’s a great mitzvah to be happy always, then we must believe that there is what to be happy about! (Rabbi Eliyahu Chaim Rosen).

Some hot Moshav Band from 2010... A bit of the prayer 'Kedusha' is included in this song...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXBJdOC7uaY
http://www.dailyhalacha.com/m/halacha.aspx?id=2196
http://vbm-torah.org/archive/tefila/11tefila.htm
The basic obligation of Kedusha entails declaring with the congregation the prophetic verses of the angels' praises: "Kadosh, Kadosh" ("Holy, holy," Yeshayahu 6:3) and "Barukh kevod" ("Blessed is the glory," Yechezkel 3:12). The Acharonim debate whether to view the third response, "Yimlokh Hashem" ("G-d will rule," Tehillim 146:10) as an integral part of Kedusha. While this debate may seem somewhat trivial, the Mishna Berura (66:17) cites a somewhat significant ramification. The Shulchan Arukh (ibid. 3) rules that one may interrupt the recitation of the Shema and its berakhot, even in the middle of a line, in order to respond to Kaddish ("Amen yeheh shemeih," "May His Name"), Barekhu, Modim (only the first word) and Kedusha. May one also interrupt for "Yimlokh Hashem?" The Mishna Berura rules that one should only say "Kadosh, Kadosh" and "Barukh kevod," but NOT "Yimlokh Hashem." The Arukh Ha-shulchan (66:6), however, writes that since there is no clear answer to this question, one may follow either practice.

The song is about Rabbi Nachman of Breslov.... He is a great Chassidic Rabbi who started the Breslov Chassidic sect. Till today his followers make an annual pilgrimage to his grave in Uman, Ukraine. Uman is where my family emigrated from in the late 1890s or early 1900s.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rabbi_nachman
Nachman of Breslov (Hebrew: נחמן מברסלב), also known as Reb Nachman of Bratslav, Reb Nachman Breslover (Yiddish: רב נחמן ברעסלאווער), Nachman from Uman (April 4, 1772 – October 16, 1810), was the founder of the Breslov Hasidic movement.
Rebbe Nachman, a great grandson of the Baal Shem Tov, breathed new life into the Hasidic movement by combining the esoteric secrets of Judaism (the Kabbalah) with in-depth Torah scholarship. He attracted thousands of followers during his lifetime and his influence continues until today.[1] Rebbe Nachman's religious philosophy revolved around closeness to G-d and speaking to G-d in normal conversation "as you would with a best friend." The concept of hitbodedut is central to his thinking.[1]

May the protecting angel of Israel stand strong with the Jewish people today, the day of the planned invasion of Jerusalem by arab invaders. This is a song we sing on Friday night on Shabbat. We believe that two angels accompany us home Friday night, and if the Shabbat is beautiful then the good angel promises that in the future we should have beautiful Shabbat. If the Shabbat is not prepared so that Shabbat is glorified, the bad angel will suggest that in the future we should have not so good Shabbats...
Let the guardian angel of Israel see only the good of the Israeli people, may we all be judged for the best, and our merits should outweigh our transgressions...

The Talmud says that when a person comes homes from shul on Friday night, he is accompanied by two angels -- a good angel and a bad angel. If the table is beautifully set and there is a peaceful atmosphere in the home, then the good angel says, So may it be next week, and the bad angel is forced to say, Amen -- so may it be! But if the house is a mess (both physically and emotionally), then the bad angel says, So may it be next week, and the good angel is forced to say, Amen!

Nice improvised Shalom Aleichem message..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JrtJofFpYj8
The lyrics from Chabad site:
Say three times: Peace unto you, ministering angels, messengers of the Most High, of the supreme King of kings, the Holy One, blessed be He.
Say three times: May your coming be in peace angels of peace, messengers of the Most High, of the supreme King of kings, the Holy one, blessed be He.
Say three times: Bless me with peace, angels of peace, messengers of the Most High, of the supreme King of kings, the Holy one, blessed be He.
Say three times: May your departure be in peace, angels of peace, messengers of the Most High, of the supreme King of kings, the Holy one, blessed be He.
For He will instruct His angels in your behalf, to guard you in all your ways. The Lord will guard your going and your coming from now and for all time.

Aleichem Shalom Ephraim and Shavua Tov...I hope your weekend has been restful...
Regarding your question on what the Jewish wisdom says concerning the significance of the number 3 I provide you the following sources:
http://www.askmoses.com/en/article/228,503/Why-are-many-things-in-Judaism-done-three-times.html
Why are many things in Judaism done three times?
by Rabbi Yossi Marcus
According to Jewish law, once something is done three times it is considered a permanent thing. This is called a “chazakah.”
Let’s say you decide to take on a new good resolution. If you do it once—beginner’s luck. Twice—still beginner’s luck. If you do it three times then we can trust you.
So the number three represents permanence. That’s why we do things in threes, since it adds strength to our acts. (For example, many prayers are repeated three times; the Lulav is waved three times in each direction; etc.)
From a Kabbalistic perspective, we know that three is the number of peace and integration. The number two represents difference, division—right and left, giving vs. restraint.
Three, represents the integration of one and two. (The integration of giving vs. restraint, for example, results in one withholding a knife from a child who really wants to play with one.)
The Talmud1 points out that the Torah was given in the third month of the Jewish year, to a people that has three groups (Kohen, Levite, Israelite), and through Moses, who was the third child in his family (after Miriam and Aharon). The (Written) Torah itself is made up of three portions: the Five Books of Moses, the Prophets and the Writings.
Torah is the manual for peace2. It teaches how to integrate body and soul, the physical world with its spiritual source. It is "the third" entity, the one that unites the other two.

Topic: 3 Times Singing Shalom Aleichem
Moshe Pripas from Jerusalem wrote:
Dear Rabbi,
Three years ago my mother-in-law asked why we say "Shalom Aleichem" (Peace unto You) on Friday night three times. I gave the reason for being a "chazaka" (emphasis) but that itself wasn't satisfying. Since then I have asked lots of people and nobody ever gave me a different answer.
Dear Moshe Pripas,
The Likutei Maharich asks your question. He explains as you did, that repeating something three times adds emphasis. We do the same in other parts of our liturgy, such as in kiddush levana and the bedtime shema.
But I've heard another answer: The Talmud states that two angels accompany a person as he walks home from synagogue Friday night. These angels are in addition to the usual angel who accompanies him at all times. Hence, we have three angels in all. Thus we recite "Shalom Aleichem" one time for each angel.
The problem with this answer is that people are usually accompanied by two angels at all times, making four in all. This can be answered according to the Zohar, which states that not two angels but rather two groups of angels accompany a man on Friday night. These, in addition to the usual group of two angels which accompany the person at all times, give us three groups in all. We recite one "Shalom Aleichem" for each group. This also explains the use of the plural "aleichem" - "unto You (plural)" - as well.

What is the mystical significance of the number three?
By Eliezer Posner
One symbolizes unity, agreement, simplicity. When something exists alone, nothing disturbs it. It remains completely at peace, without regard for anything else. Two symbolizes duality, tension and complexity.
The number three symbolizes a harmony that includes and synthesizes two opposites. The unity symbolized by the number three isn't accomplished by getting rid of number two, the entity that caused the discord, and reverting to the unity symbolized by number one. Rather, three merges the two to create a new entity, one that harmoniously includes both opposites. On its own, Entity A leaves no room for Entity B, and Entity B does not allow for the existence of Entity A. Entity C demonstrates how A and B really are compatible and even complementary. Bringing together two opposites (A and B), requires the introduction of an entity or common goal (C) that is greater than both of them.

Here is 'Natural Science':
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8OBaFnHwEY
1. Tide Pools
When the ebbing tide retreats
Along the rocky shoreline,
It leaves a trail of tidal pools
In a short-lived galaxy.
Each microcosmic planet
A complete society.
A simple kind mirror
To reflect upon our own.
All the busy little creatures
Chasing out their destinies.
Living in the pools,
They soon forget about the sea...
Wheels within wheels in a spiral array,
A pattern so grand and complex,
Time after time we lose sight of the way,
Our causes can't see their effects.
2. Hyerspace
A quantum leap forward
In time and in space,
The universe learned to expand.
Myths and the magic,
Triumphant and tragic,
A mechanized world out of hand.
Computerized clinic
For superior cynics
Who dance to a synthetic band.
In their own image,
Their world is fashion.
No wonder they don't understand.
3. Permanent Waves
Science, like nature
Must also be tamed
With a view toward it's preservation.
Given the same
State of integrity,
It will surely serve us well.
Art as expression,
Not as market campaigns
Will still capture our imaginations.
Given the same
State of integrity,
It will surely help us along.
The most endangered species,
The honest man,
Will still survive annihilation.
Forming a world
State of integrity,
Sensitive, open and strong.
Wave after wave will flow with the tide, and bury the world as it does.
Tide after tide will flow and recede, leaving life to go on as it was...

May the Living G-d be magified and praised
Who exists, and whose existence is not limited by time
One, and there is no unity like His Unity
Concealed, nor is there an end to His Unity.
He has no form of a body, nor is He a body
It is not arranged around His holiness.
Preceding every created thing,
First, and there is nothing prior to His Priority
As Master of the Universe to every formed being
He teaches His Greatness and Sovereignty
The flow of His prophecy is His gift To men of His special, glorious nation.
There has not risen another in Israel like Moses
A prophet and one who tells clearly his visions
A Torah of truth did the Almighty give to His nation
By the hand of His prophet [Moses], faithful to His house.
G-d will not exchange nor retract His religion forever.
Not even He.
He observes and knows our secrets
forecasting consequences from their antecedents.
He grants Man lovingkindness according to his deeds
Gives evil to the wicked as they engage in wickedness
He will send at the end of days our Anointed King
To redeem those who await the time of our salvation
G-d will resurrect the dead in His great lovingkindness
Blessed forever is the praise of His Name

Do not fear sudden terror, nor the destruction of the wicked when it comes. Contrive a scheme, but it will be foiled; conspire a plot, but it will not materialize, for G-d is with us. To your old age I am [with you]; to your hoary years I will sustain you; I have made you, and I will carry you; I will sustain you and deliver you. Indeed, the righteous will extol Your Name; the upright will dwell securely in Your presence.

Establish peace, goodness, blessing, graciousness, kindness, and compassion upon us and upon all of Your people Israel. Bless us, our Father, all of us as one, with the light of Your countenance, for with the light of Your countenance You gave us, Hashem, our G-d, the Torah of life and a love of kindness, righteousness, blessing, compassion, life, and peace. And may it be good in Your eyes to bless Your people Israel, in every season and in every hour with Your peace.
Blessed are You, Hashem, Who blesses His people Israel with peace.

I am reminded of one of my favorite Shabbat songs, "Kol HaOlam Kulo"...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6bAP1_zNL4
Rabbi Nachman said:
"The whole world is a narrow bridge, but the main thing is not to fear, not to fear at all"
http://www.aish.com/sh/s/48969621.html
There is a familiar teaching from Rebbe Nachman of Breslov, which is familiar to us as it is paraphrased within the popular song “Kol HaOlam Kulo…”
The actual teaching from Likutei MohaRan reads as follows:
“Veda SheAdam Tzarich Laavor al gesher tzar meod, meod, vehaklal vehaikar shelo lehitpacheid klal…”
“And know that a person needs to traverse a very, very narrow bridge, but the fundamental and most important principle is to have no hesitation or fear at all…”
Why does Rebbe Nachman use the analogy of a very narrow bridge? What is the difference between a very narrow bridge and a super highway?
On a super highway if the car in front of you is driving 20 miles below the speed limit, or is blaring some really annoying country music, or is swerving back and forth in a frustrating fashionwell on a super highway, where there are multiple lanes, you can switch lanes and blow right by the troublesome car. But on a narrow bridge, you need to engage, and confront challenging situations and individuals.
What Rebbe Nachman is teaching us is that in life it is inevitable that we are going to encounter challenging situations and individuals with different points of view, different backgrounds, and values that may be completely in conflict with our own moral compass. Rebbe Nachman is teaching us don't be afraid or hesitate to engage such individuals, in fact quite the contrary embrace such situations as opportunities to share and learn from one another, and traverse that “narrow bridge” together.

I must say that I am a bit disappointed at Matisyahu.... In his rebellion against Judaism he has shed all outward signs of his faith. Not only no peyot and beard, but no Kippah or Tzit-Tzits.... I feel bad for his family to witness such blatant use of our religion in order to become famous and sell-out to pop imagery. Some of the songs on the new album are OK but some are not... I just hope that ONE DAY he comes back and does Teshuva for his rebellion.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QvOrrRnR4-g
There's mosquitoes on the river.
Fish are rising up like birds.
It's been hot for seven weeks now,
Too hot to even speak now.
Did you hear what I just heard?
Say, it might have been a fiddle,
Or it could have been the wind.
But there seems to be a beat, now.
I can feel it in my feet, now.
Listen, here it comes again!
There's a band out on the highway.
They're high-steppin' into town.
They're a rainbow full of sound.
It's fireworks, calliopes and clowns --
Everybody's dancing.
Come on, children. Come on, children,
Come on clap your hands.
Sun went down in honey.
Moon came up in wine.
Stars were spinnin' dizzy,
Lord, the band kept us so busy
We forgot about the time.
They're a band beyond description
Like Hashem's favorite choir.
People joinin' hand in hand
While the music plays the band.
Lord, they're setting us on fire.
Crazy rooster crowin' midnight.
Balls of lightning roll along.
Old men sing about their dreams.
Women laugh and children scream,
And the band keeps playin' on.
Keep on dancin' through to daylight.
Greet the morning air with song.
No one's noticed, but the band's all packed and gone.
Was it ever here at all?
But they keep on dancing.
C'mon, children. C'mon, children,
Come on clap your hands.
Well, the cool breeze came on Tuesday,
And the corn's a bumper crop.
The fields are full of dancing,
Full of singing and romancing,
'Cause the music never stopped.

Samael = Satan
Lilith = Demoness
Wikipedia:
Pentagrams were used as an important religious symbol by the Pythagoreane.g.Pythagoreanism in ancient Greece and Babylonia relating to the elements theorized by Empedocles to comprise all matter. Pentagrams are used today as a symbol of faith by many Wiccans, akin to the use of the cross by Christians and the Star of David by Jews. The pentagram has magical associations, and many people who practice Neopagan faiths wear jewelry incorporating the symbol. Christians once more commonly used the pentagram to represent the five wounds of Jesus.[4][5] The pentagram has associations with Freemasonry[6] and is also utilized by other belief systems.

-

Ok... I was beginning to wonder...
The hebrew text on that pentagram spells 'Leviathan'..
Satanists use a pentagram with two points up, often inscribed in a double circle, with the head of a goat inside the pentagram. This is referred to as the Sigil of Baphomet. They use it much the same way as the Pythagoreans, as Tartaros literally translates from Greek as a "Pit" or "Void" in Christian terminology (the word is used as such in the Bible, referring to the place where the fallen angels are fettered). The Pythagorean Greek letters are most often replaced by the Hebrew letters לויתן forming the name Leviathan. Less esoteric LaVeyan Satanists use it as a sign of rebellion or religious identification, the three downward points symbolising rejection of Trinity.

Ephraim,
You must be careful and not accept all that is called 'Kabbalah' as authentic Jewish Kabbalah. I can find no mention in any kosher source that the pentagram is in any way related to the Sephirot of Tepheret/Beauty. I did find several sites which mention this in relation to Greek and other quasi-Kabbalahs but Jewish Kabbalah doesn't have this symbol.
As I posted above, concerning the Mezuzah and Astrology, there is a minor connection... But of course this is not an inverted star within two concentric circles {as the Satanic pentagram is}.
Here is a discussion {from Aish.com} concerning the Sephirot of Tiferet:
http://www.aish.com/sp/k/48965381.html
Tiferet -- which literally means "beauty" or "glory" -- is the most central as it mediates between chesed ("kindness") and gevurah ("strength").
Literally taken, the word "middle" implies a compromise, a "little of this" and a "little of that." But the word "middle" has a much more positive and pronounced connotation when used as a description of tiferet. It connotes a way that is of a completely different nature than either of the two previous sefirot -- it uses them both, but in amounts that suit an entirely different mode of activity.
For instance, every country has the most important task of surviving among other nations. This is the duty of the prime minister, president or king. To this end, he has a state department which works on building friendly and pleasant relationships amongst the various nations. Then there is a defense department whose job is to prepare for war against belligerent nations.
A SYNTHESIS
The same is true of chesed, gevurah and tiferet. Chesed has an innate "ideology" of goodness. It wants to give for the sake of giving. It sees in this the ultimate goal, and the more one gives -– regardless who is deserving -- the greater and better things.
Gevurah, on the other hand, sees giving as poisonous. Only things earned by equal and fair labor are "good." Thus, it has a powerful ideology of "quid quo pro" and "no free lunches." It sees the ultimate goal of creation as every creature earning its own way.
Tiferet comes along creating a synthesis of both of these approaches. It includes both these approaches because it has a broader goal in mind, and therefore makes use of both. Its goal is "the development of the human being to his greatest potential."
I googled that phrase which you quoted above {without attribution} and found it at this site:
http://www.alchemylab.com/jewish_alchemy.htm
From what I can tell it is certainly not a Jewish site...
And according to most counts of the Sephirot, the fourth emination is actually Chesed...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxctLVo7yEc
1) Keter - Crown
2) Chochma - Wisdom
3) Binah - Understanding
4) Chesed - Kindness
5) Gevurah - Restraint
6) Tiferet - Beauty
7) Netzach - Victory

Alright.... Here is another Grateful Dead related posting...
Today, August 9th, happens to be the 'Yartzeit' {Anniversary of the Death} of Jerry Garcia. I remember this day in 1995 when he passed, it was a day I took off from work to attend a memorial at Griffith Park in Los Angeles.
Jerry Garcia may not have been the most righteous person, but he was close. You may be puzzled why I say this. In a recent thread I posted about Talmud Sotah 13, which discusses that a righteous man lives full years, he will die on the same day he was born. Jerry Garcia was born August 6th, and died on August 9th... Only 3 days passed. He almost lived a complete, righteous, life...
His living bandmates and other bands who adored Jerrys incredible guitar style got together on his birthday and recorded 4 hours of Grateful Dead songs with guest players. I am not going to watch the entire 4 hours tonight, I just started watching about 20 minutes ago... But I will certainly watch it all...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJY3sUB1ots
-
Muman, What besides Jerry Garcia's talent and the day he died make him close to being a righteous man?
I'm serious. I never considered Jerry Garcia righteous. I wonder what makes you consider him so.
America is still mostly xenophobic and racist. That's the nature of America, I think.
Jerry Garcia
I think it's too bad that everybody's decided to turn on drugs, I don't think drugs are the problem. Crime is the problem. Cops are the problem. Money's the problem. But drugs are just drugs.
Jerry Garcia
The real problems are cultural. The problems of the people who take drugs as a cultural trap - I think there's a real problem there, the crack stuff, the hopelessness of the junkie. The urban angst.
Jerry Garcia
What we do is as American as lynch mobs. America has always been a complex place.
Jerry Garcia
You know...drugs are okay if you are Jerry Garcia ( and maybe not if they contributed to his death). He had money and means. For most people serious drug use destroys their lives. So I just have trouble with the concept of Jerry Garcia being called near righteous. Could you help me out here?
-
Good Morning BullCat3,
First let me explain that when I say that Jerry was righteous I am using a definition of righteous which is different from the Biblical and religious definition. There is no comparison between a righteous Torah scholar and Jerry Garcia. Having said this I still find a modicum of righteousness for reasons I will attempt to explain below.
While in retrospect I agree that the entire 60's Hippie scene was a step backward for morality and values. But the central theme which was what was attractive about it was the love and peace which all involved felt was possible. While I was involved with the Dead 'scene' I learned about myself, about getting along with others, and about dreaming for a peaceful future. Although most Deadheads put their faith in pacifism not all did. The Grateful Dead, for much of their career {40 years} did not involve themselves with politics. I knew Republican and Democrat deadheads.
The members of the dead were very active in various charities, there was the Rexx Foundation and the one named Seva {I believe} would collect peoples old eye-glasses and provide them to people who were unfortunately poor and needed glasses. There are many charitable foundations which the members of the dead contributed to.
The Grateful Dead was primarily a White Rock Band which never had many black fans. In all the years I went to shows I only saw 2-3 black people in the 100s thousands of heads which I saw. For the most part I agree with several of the quotes you bring from Garcia. I don't believe that the drugs are the problem, they are just drugs, and the problem is that people are attracted to them and become addicted. Not all drugs are as evil as Heroin or Cocaine.. During my years of exploration I did try many things. I do not encourage others to follow this path but it is what led me to where I am today. I regret that I had to do what I did {getting involved with some bad players and bad substances} but in retrospect those things are a part of who I am. The fact that today I can say that I would not go down that path again is the rectification of my errors.
The music which the band produced was magical. The togetherness and love which was felt at performances is similar to the feeling I get today while davening Shabbat morning prayers looking around at my friends in my minyan. I feel that closeness with my fellow Jews who I share this spiritual connection. While I was exploring spirituality the Dead provided a small glimpse of what spirituality was.
Anyway, I hope I explained some of my rational...

The Sight Program is Launched
Dr. Grasset introduced the group to Dr. G. Venkataswami, a retired eye surgeon in India known as "Dr. V" who was just setting out to fulfill his vision of making cataract surgery as "ubiquitous as McDonalds," and therefore affordable to the poor. That was the beginning of Seva's partnership in the high-volume eye clinic that would become the internationally known Aravind Eye Care Systems.
Since then, Seva-supported programs and partners have helped nearly three million blind people to see again through affordable cataract surgeries. In just the past year, Seva's Sight Program benefited over 700,000 people worldwide.
The Rex Foundation:
http://rexfoundation.org/home/mission/
The Grateful Dead was always known for generosity and the performance of numerous benefits. In the fall of 1983, the Rex Foundation was established as a non-profit charitable organization by members of the Grateful Dead and friends to further this tradition. The Rex Foundation enabled the Grateful Dead to go beyond responding to multiple requests for contributions, and proactively provide extensive community support to creative endeavors in the arts, sciences, and education. The first benefit concerts for the Rex Foundation were held in the spring of 1984 at the Marin Veteran’s Memorial Auditorium. Since 1984 the Rex Foundation has granted $8.7 million to over 1,000 recipients.

I appreciate your taking the time to answer, Muman.
I do appreciate the profound impact you feel Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead/being a 'dead head' had on your life.
I can't agree with you on the 'drugs' issue.
Drugs have the ability to destroy lives and families.
No one should ever promote their use. Ever.
When you stand at the bedside of a brain dead child and see the devastation of a family, that is the only opinion you can have.
G-d Bless the people that have traveled that path unscathed.

Our Father, our King, bring us back to you in full repentance.
Our Father, Our King, forgive and pardon all our misdeeds.
Our Father, Our King, have compassion on us and on our children.
Our Father Our King, make an end to sickness, war, and famine.
Our Father Our King, inscribe us for blessing in the Book of Life.
Our Father, Our King, let the new year be a good year for us.
Our Father, Our King, help us to exalt Your name in the world.

Couldn't get Leonard Cohens haunting tune out of my head over Shabbat:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQTRX23EMNk
Songwriters: COHEN, LEONARD
And who by fire, who by water,
Who in the sunshine, who in the night time,
Who by high ordeal, who by common trial,
Who in your merry merry month of may,
Who by very slow decay,
And who shall I say is calling?
And who in her lonely slip, who by barbiturate,
Who in these realms of love, who by something blunt,
And who by avalanche, who by powder,
Who for his greed, who for his hunger,
And who shall I say is calling?
And who by brave assent, who by accident,
Who in solitude, who in this mirror,
Who by his lady's command, who by his own hand,
Who in mortal chains, who in power,
And who shall I say is calling?

A perfect song for the week of "Lech Lecha", "Go Forth for Yourself" the Portion we read this coming Shabbat. The Parasha where Avraham our Patriach is introduced.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJJLdDGffy0
-
This song is timely, this coming Parasha we read the story of Abraham and Sodom & Gomorrah...
Jerry Garcia has a song which captures the idea of the story...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQQPOLgGcUY
Just a song of Gomorrah, I wonder what they did there
Must've been a bad thing to get shot down for
I wonder how they blew it up or if they burned it down
Get out, get out Mr. Lot and don't you turn around.
Who gave you your orders, someone from the sky
I heard a voice inside my head in the desert wind so dry
I heard a voice tellin' me to flee the very same voice I always believe
Say alot of trouble comin', but it don't have to come to you
I'm telling you so you can tell the rest what you've been through.
But don't you turn around, no, don't look after you
It's not your business how it's done, you're lucky to get through
You're a good upstanding man, a credit to the flock
But if you don't face straight ahead you could not take the shock
Blew the city off the map, left nothing there but fire
The wife of Lot got turned to salt, because she looked behind her.

A Jewish song of hope and faith in Hashem...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hf_rieuP2yM
I hear a sound
I look in every way
Not a soul in sight
I Find a place to lay
I feel the wave
Running through my veins
I cry out to hashem
Bemunah shelema
I lift my head I look around the room
My brothers in the corner
What have I to do?
I walk across sit down next to him
I don't know what to say
It's gonna be okay
Chorus:
Oh Hashem help us get through
I see the fear of every single jew
This is not a dream come true
Hashem is watching over you
I think it's safe, I take a look outside
Look down in the water
I look up to the sky
I see my brother a tear drop in his eye, try to hold back but then I start to cry
I clear my thoughts wipe my tears away hoping its all over the sound
Begins to play, the clock is ticking
Hope that I'll be fine, forgot about
My brother I pray it's not his time
Chorus:
Oh Hashem help us get through
I see the fear of every single jew
This is not a dream come true
Hashem is watching over you
A distant shadow, a man dressed in green holding a little child, what does this mean
The soldier drops him, feet land on the ground, I see my little brother, he jumps in to my arms
Chorus:
Oh Hashem help me get through
I have the fear of every single Jew
This is not my dream come true
Hashems still watching over you

I think this Rush song "Closer to the Heart" mirrors the goals of Chassidism.

Natural Science...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgfJovz5_fE
1. Tide Pools
When the ebbing tide retreats
Along the rocky shoreline,
It leaves a trail of tidal pools
In a short-lived galaxy.
Each microcosmic planet
A complete society.
A simple kind mirror
To reflect upon our own.
All the busy little creatures
Chasing out their destinies.
Living in the pools,
They soon forget about the sea...
Wheels within wheels in a spiral array,
A pattern so grand and complex,
Time after time we lose sight of the way,
Our causes can't see their effects.
2. Hyerspace
A quantum leap forward
In time and in space,
The universe learned to expand.
Myths and the magic,
Triumphant and tragic,
A mechanized world out of hand.
Computerized clinic
For superior cynics
Who dance to a synthetic band.
In their own image,
Their world is fashion.
No wonder they don't understand.
3. Permanent Waves
Science, like nature
Must also be tamed
With a view toward it's preservation.
Given the same
State of integrity,
It will surely serve us well.
Art as expression,
Not as market campaigns
Will still capture our imaginations.
Given the same
State of integrity,
It will surely help us along.
The most endangered species,
The honest man,
Will still survive annihilation.
Forming a world
State of integrity,
Sensitive, open and strong.
Wave after wave will flow with the tide, and bury the world as it does.
Tide after tide will flow and recede, leaving life to go on as it was...

http://www.israelnationalnews.com/Radio/News.aspx/4573
This week the Israel Beat Jewish Music Podcast takes you backstage at the Yellow Submarine in Jerusalem to meet BenYomen. Find out how this Chabad hip hop Hebrew musician came from the streets of California to adhere to Torah messages through modern beats in Israel. This interview was conducted with backing band the Dead Soul Scrolls and Saadya Tzvi. For some impromptu interaction, on-the-spot hip hop and funny tales of the Israeli music scene and a little bit of magic, tune in. Music featured included the Dead Soul Scrolls featuring David Levy, Saadya Tzvi, BenYomen featuring Yehuda and more.
Special thanks to Rafi Di from Glass Hat Media for video and audio production.
In the second half of the show, check out some exciting new Jewish and Israeli music from Yehuda Glantz, Daniel Zamir featuring Matisyahu, and brand new Yeedle.
