Luckily it was a very mild one. And I was so scared!
He's 84 years old. They're keeping him an extra night or two in the hospital to make sure it doesn't happen again. So if you all could please pray he gets well, I would be very grateful.
His Hebrew name is Eliahu Ben Malka.
Thanks.

I'll pray for him Lisa. I hope he will be well.

Thanks everyone.
It was so scary when we first noticed something was wrong. The father turned ghostly pale. When the ambulance arrived and the men brought out the stretcher was when I lost it.
Luckily, he quickly got better in the hospital. One side of his mouth is a bit crooked. It looks like they're going to keep him until tomorrow to make sure he's OK.

I'm really sad that you and him and the rest of your family are having to go through this situation. I hope he feels better soon.

Let us all mention Lisas Father in the Misheberach prayer {which I have included below}:
May He Who has blessed our forefathers, Avraham, Yitzchak, Ya'akov, Moshe, Aharon, Dovid and Shlomo, bless and heal Eliahu Ben Malka on behalf of the merit of our good deeds and the giving of tzedakah. In the merit of this, may the Almighty be filled with mercy upon him to strengthen him, to heal him, to vitalize him. May He speedily send him a complete recovery from Heaven to all his limbs and organs. May he be healed along with all others of the Jewish people requiring healing. May his recovery be immediate and complete.

Thank you Muman.
I just got back from the hospital. He passed the swallowing test. He can now swallow some water without coughing. So they ordered him some mashed food for dinner. I think he's having some beef.
-
I'm glad he's able to eat even if it's just soft food right now.
-
What is the very latest, Lisa? How was his dinner?
-
Well I know he ate last night.
They're doing a few more tests on him today, then hopefully they'll discharge him. From what I understand, he'll now be on a regimen of aspirin, and cholesterol lowering medication, even though his cholesterol is around 150, which is excellent.

I will keep your father in my prayers.
I will pray for his fully recovery and for him to be home soon.
It is very scary when things like that happen.

I will pray for you father Lisa.

It is very scary.
When those men in the firehouse uniforms came to the house with that stretcher, that really did it for me. When I got to the hospital on Saturday, I couldn't stop crying. I had to go to the chapel/meditation room. I felt bad about letting my family see me cry, since they were acting so calm. The same thing happened yesterday before I got to see him, although I felt better knowing that he could swallow.
Even now, it's still upsetting because it's a reminder of my father's mortality.

The ambulance had to come to my parents home four times last year.
It was one of the most difficult years of my life.
I'm a medical professional and I fell apart. Each and every time.
Don't be so hard on yourself, Lisa. You are close to your parents. I can tell that. It is hard to see anything bad happen to someone you love.
I'm am praying for your Dad to be home soon and for you to have strength.
I'm not so far away if you need to talk.
