Title: Why the trigger-fingers lately?
Post by: Lewinsky Stinks, Dr. Brennan Rocks on July 16, 2012, 01:33:34 PM
All,

Why has every topic that has appeared the least bit controversial over the past couple of months been instantaneously moved to the Admins and Mods?

I understand the need to cut down trolling, but do average people who come upon this while browsing the internet, or worse yet join us and get one of their topics blackballed, get a good picture of our movement when this takes place? Do we want to be known as a place that's afraid of anything challenging or controversial? Do we want the trolls to win by allowing them to basically shut down all debate?

I can think of several alternatives or compromises to this that I think would be better than current policy, and would also love to hear Chaim's take on all this.

Just a question,
BF

I don't have the same impression. I think only a few threads have been removed.

Shalom BrennanFan,

Good to see you are still around... Regarding the recent trolls... I have not seen anyone banned upon saying things which are challenging. I have seen debate with them until they crack and say something beyond acceptable.

I don't understand why a thread warning that a troll has returned warrants being removed.

Hey there buddy.

As far as locking and moving two threads.  It's because they were pointless threads attacking each other and were personal.  Doesn't need to be in the public.  As far as who's a troll or not a troll, the admin needs to be made aware of those things VIA pm.
