Title: In 2000, did you vote Gore or Bush?
Post by: The One and Only Mo on November 07, 2012, 05:45:32 PM
If I recall, JTF was heavily in favor of Al Gore. Gore was a Democrat, but it seems that everybody here is Republican. Are you guys all Republicans who just happened to hate G.W. at the time, or do you guys just go with whomever you like regardless of party? Was anybody here ever registered with one party? Had I been of voting age, I would have voted Gore in 2000 and Bush in 2004. I'm not old enough to remember anything significant about Clinton except for the project I did on his affair. From what I've read (outside JTF), he gets mixed reviews. I'm not sure what I would have done if I were old enough to vote back then.

JTF supported Gore?   I wonder why.

I didn't join here until about 2007.    Why did people here want Gore to win?

2) HW Bush (1988) +
3) Clinton (1992) +
4) Clinton (1996) +
5) Gore (2000) -
6) Kerry (2004) -
7) McCain (2008) -
8) Romney (2012) -

I don't recall JTF being in support of Gore... How did anyone come up with that idea? We had members who might have favored Gore personally but that was it.

בס''ד

JTF was strongly against Gore. We supported Bush as the lesser of two evils. Especially after Gore picked the self-hating Jew Joe Lieberman as his running mate.

What exact year did JTF go from QPTV to the internet (JTF.ORG)?  I'm not sure internet jtf.org was in existence in 2000 but I could be wrong.

My mistake. I thought I remembered correctly. I wonder why I got in my head that everybody wanted Gore to win and hated Bush (at that time). I was pretty young back then.

U voted for Kerry? Was JTF anti-Kerry? Now I'm all confused.

I hated Bob Dole.  I sat that one out.  He made me puke.  I liked Jack Kemp.  He would have made a decent president.  I didn't say great.  What is the JTF consensus about Kemp?

Dole, Bush, Bush, McCain, Romney

I do think Bush was evil though, not as evil as Gore or Kerry, but still very evil. Dole ran a pathetic campaign, a lot like John McCain actually.

At the time I was not even aware of JTF, nor had I started my Teshuva {repentance}.... Thus I was still a moderate-left democrat at the  time...

My dad, a huge JTF fan who got me hooked, voted Gore. I don't know why he did that since he usually takes JTF's opinion. From what I can remember, I rooted hard for Gore (too young to vote), and most of the people I knew in the States did, too. Oh well. Obviously, in hindsight, I would have rooted for Bush, and my dad would have voted for him.

You are confused. We supported Jorge El Bush. As I remember CBP said that Al Whore would drive us off the cliff at 120MPH whereas Jorge would obey the law and drive us off the cliff at 55MPH.

What makes establishment GOP candidates and incumbents so odious as to want to make people vote for characters like Gore?  I guess my question is rhetorical.

OTOH, we can clearly see what kind of a person Gore was, and who we would have had as a president...  a sexually depraved individual who demands "services" from male masseuses.

The reason why people, even some current JTF members, were impartial to Gore at that time is because Republican candidates are usually associated with austerity, and they didn't want Bush to interfere with what was seen as a booming economy at the time.  Little did we know what was to come later.

I only joined at the end of 2006, but I believe since Reagan (or when JTF came into existence), JTF supported any republican president running.  I do remember in the primaries, Alan Keyes was a big favorite of this movement.  I sure miss Alan Keyes.  He had a really nice show a while back on MS-NBC.  One of the smartest, pro American pro Israel candidates that I know.
