I only wish more liberals would resign from liberalism:

I don't necessarily think that what she said was that bad, but it does reflect a lack of faith in G-d.

Here's her points, as I see them:
Republicans have been stereotyped by the left wing media as being for the rich and against the middle class and poor.
When Bush's tax cuts are repealed and everyone's taxes are raised, then the media will somehow blame this on Republicans rather than left wing policies, just as they blamed the poor US economy on Bush rather than Obama.
The left wing media is very effective at brainwashing people. To some degree, in order to make progress, we have to work with the fact that the majority of Americans are brainwashed. You have to work within the context of how they've been programmed and not ignore the fact that this programming has occurred.
Therefore, we should co-opt the language of the left and use it for our own purposes. Taxing the very rich people (the elites, like those in Hollywood, Warren Buffet, etc.) would make sense to most Americans. At the same time we can stick to our conservative principles and give tax breaks to the majority of Americans including small business owners (job creators) that the Democrats currently want to overtax.
Ann Coulter is saying that if we don't follow this strategy, we are likely to continue to lose election after election.
Personally, I think she is making a lot of sense.

sounds like she is right and hannity is trying to sell a bill of goods.
-
Are you kidding me? WTF^^. She said we should agree to Obama's tax hikes on the on welfare leeches, and then say "also tax your super rich buddies. He'll say sure, of course. They'll run a paper on how the republicans are seeing the light, or they'll say it was racism, no matter, there will be no taxes that will stick, and anything they loose will be spent on 12 million dollar toilet seats. Or imaginary environmental funds, or raising cancer awareness, along with plaques on how they have the world by not doing anything with a company, or how they saved humanity by letting people know that cancer exists.
I think you don't get it. The "fight obama" brilliant stategy of the republicans is to block obama from extending the bush tax cuts for 98% of income earners. When they block that, then the tax cuts expire not just for the top bracket, but for everyone. Then the media will blame the republicans for why EVERYONE'S taxes went up. Don't you see how that's a losing strategy? And isn't it bad for everyone's taxes to go up? Since when is that good?
-
The house Republicans are really being pushed into a no win situation... If they stick to their guns they will be the blame for every problem the shvartza Administration has during the next 4 years... They should make it plain that its not what they want but in the best interest of the economy and the impending fiscal cliff they will let the democrats do as they wish.

I think income tax is wrong and the attitude of "its ok to tax anyone else as long as it isn't me" is paramount to how nazis were able to get away targeting all different groups of individuals. The repugnantcans have sold out and resigned from fighting for what's right. A new conservative movement needs to be created. And it will be a really long time before they can save America and rebrainwash American zombies.

It's not a question that paying income tax is wrong it's a question of paying excessive income tax that is wrong... Everyone should pay their way... In no case should people get more money back after filing their tax return than they paid in... The problem we have developed in this country is many people believe it's the governments job to play "Robin Hood" taking from the rich and giving to the so called poor.
-
And if they give into them, they will not find something else to blame them for?? Or simply credit Obama the victory and move on to asking for free immigration?? It wasn't a loosing strategy to oppose land for a piece of paper, and it certainly isn't worth it to play ball in a rigged game at the cost of their platform. Do you really think anything the republicans will do will change Obama's agenda?
Don't see the connection between bush tax cut expiry and Land for Peace. Nice try.
-
The principles Kwr. Saying that even if they're bad now, if we give in, at least people won't be on their side is a delusion and is pure insanity.
That's not what I'm saying, and your "comparison" is an absurdity.
If Republicans "fight obama" the result is taxes go up for all taxpaying americans.
If republicans "give in" as you call it, then the result is taxes go up for the top tax bracket.
Either way is bad for the economy, but the first option is far worse and punishes many people for the sake of "principle." What principle exactly? That we wish to enrage the population against Republicans? Explain what principle is being upheld by causing the tax cuts to expire in whole.
-
They have no intention of taxing the whole top bracket.
What?
Republicans will agree to their bill, and finds that everyone making money on the side from their welfare check and up is being taxed.
What?
Secondly, what happens when the last American businesses decide that shipping out is the common sense answer?
Big businesses already do "ship out." But they do not get charged individual income taxes because large businesses pay what is called Corporate Income Tax rates. They already are exhorbitant and big businesses already do outsource jobs and expand overseas (and hoard money overseas) to save money on taxes and on cheap labor. That is a reality of global business and always will be. Companies try to make the most possible money. Of course that isn't germane to this discussion at all!
If they were going to raise taxes on Warren Buffet, they would have. Now he can pretend he pays while forcing gas pumpers to pay "their fair share".
Are you aware of how the tax code works? It is worth knowing this information before commenting on the subject.
Here's a primer:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dividend_tax
Look at the table underneath where it says:
"United States
In 2003, President George W. Bush proposed to eliminate the U.S. dividend tax saying that "double taxation is bad for our economy and falls especially hard on retired people". He also argued that while "it's fair to tax a company's profits, it's not fair to double-tax by taxing the shareholder on the same profits."[3] "
Unfortunately, lifting the highest tax bracket to 39% punishes small businesses (because they often file as individuals) who are the real economy drivers and real source of job growth, but lifting that tax bracket plus all the others is EVEN WORSE. The Republicans will accomplish a complete expiration of bush tax cuts by fighting obama on his plan to keep the cuts in place for lower brackets.
This discussion doesn't even address the obamacare taxes, tax loopholes, or real tax reform. All of that should be on the agenda, but you must be made aware of what it is you are actually talking about and what Coulter and Hannity were talking about in their video.

I'm torn between thinking she is selling out and whether she is espousing a viable strategy. If you think about it, it is weird that Democrats support tax hikes on the "super-wealthy", considering that the majority of the filthy rich are, as has been pointed out, leftists.

I ask a lot of random people who they voted for and those that vote for Obama usually tell me stupid things like Romney outs his dog on his car, Romney hates women etc. Bottom line is the dumbed down American population is brainwashed. The only way for the republicans to win is for the economy to crash and to distance themselves from it

It was Carroll Quigley who said:
"Of all tyrannies, a tyrany exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satisfied; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience."
Coulter is advocating punishing the robber barrons in order to appease a potential future Republican voter base. There are several problems with Coulter's theory, for one, this demographic is nonexistent.
Romney's plan of the perpetuation of the appeasement of the robber barrons was the last option for America... Romney was a robber barron candidate but he was not chosen to institute their policies, but rather to perpetuate them.
This is contrary to the popular belief that Romney was a messiah to rescue us from the resultant dilapidation of Obama's first term. Romney's term would have also continued the present recession, re-invigorating the waning cronyism and corruption of the Bush Republican fraternity.
However, the difference between Bush's tyranny and Obama's tyranny, is as Quigley states: Bush's tyranny is still a tyranny, but might offer us respite in the form of being thrown a juicy piece of steak on occasion. Obama's tyranny is one of socialism, one that will never cease to torment us 'for our own wellbeing'.
Coulter's desire to go back to the drawing board so-to-speak is too little too late... Instead of vehemently supporting Romney as a candidate, she could have at least supported Gingrich. Instead, she relentlessly opposed him and called him the "least conservative, least electable" candidate. Furthermore, her present-day statements just shows what a disgusting horrific beast of an opportunist she is. She has also aged quite a bit, and her looks are waning. Her cheeks have hollowed out, and she has taken on an appearance of lankiness and emaciation. We would all do well in not ever having to hear about her or see her again.

I think she is conservative, but doesn't have the necessary belief system in God's guidance. She is always attacked or someone tries to shut her up on the left, or stop her from speaking...

Those who don't pay income tax or get welfare and are not elderly shouldn't be allowed to vote.

Agreed 1000%

I think only property owners should be allowed to vote... That is what the forefathers of America envisioned, and as a property owner I feel the Constitution should be upheld... Those who rent should not have a voice because they don't pay property tax.

Apparently she is dating some guy who is an official of the Republican establishment, so now she turns the venom she used to direct at liberals to people who object to the Republican establishment.

Wtf? 4:20 came a couple times too many today?
1. Obama's billionaire buddies are safe from any economic thievery he imposes.
2. Republicans can agree to their good-hearted sounding bill, and will find that wealthy starts with a 0 less than 250,000.
3. I am fully aware of how corporate tax works. When small businesses start shipping out, or when hollywood decides they can make 50% more per movie by needing to pay actors less in Columbia, then is the beginning of economic sorrows. Do not try to insult my intelligence.
4. I know how taxes work. The issue at hand was not dividends, it was income tax as I understand things. If the issue is increasing dividend tax, then why didn't they say that?
Of course raising income taxes on everyone is bad. I'm not a friggin' tool. Stop trying to piss on me to look like some intellectual hero. They aren't fighting Obama keeping them for lower brackets, they want that too. They are fighting him taking them away from any American. Coulter is saying "say yes to their new million page bill that surely says what they say it does, and we'll have them then". I don't, nor ever did trust Coulter, and certainly don't trust Obama or the nicest floor sweeper in his administration. Eric Holder will end up with the same income no matter what Obama promises, except he looks like a hero instead of a lying tax gouger.
Any increase in taxes, especially to job creators, will cripple the economy now. You have a right to think going along with the second Jimmy Carter's miracle recovery plan will do anything good for the economy, but at least let me get safely to Israel before you start advocating steps towards its collapse.
You're wasting my time, child.

Have mercy :o That would be disfranchising the poor... That's high treason in today's society... It's almost impossible to keep non citizens from voting... How in the world would we get to a point where the non working poor are kept out of the voting booth...Personally speaking I don't have a problem with any American citizen voting once... The constitution gives them that right... The problem is the overly progressive tax structure and social services system that is killing the wealth producers and any ambition they have to get ahead... It's become easier to jump on the gravy train and go on the free ride.
