I guess Batman would be ok because he doesn't really have any superpowers.

I don't know if you heard that they hired a black actor to play a white charater.  Lawerence Fishburne is playing Perry White in the movie.

Batman may not have any superpowers but he's got a heck of a lot of high-tech gadgets. My guess is Earl would limit him to only one gadget in which case he'd be more useless than he already is.
