Where does the 6% rate in Orthodox come from? Obviously someone who intermarries is not Orthodox. Is this referring to children of Orthodox parents that went off the derech?

I believe 6% of Children of Orthodox Jews intermarry.

Is that true? I don't think it's that high. Why do these Jews become traitors even though they were raised as religious Jews?

Something kinda interesting about this.... both of my siblings and nearly all my uncles and aunts have married catholics.... and some of their kids were even sent to catholic schools....but something interesting has happened...

I was chatting with their kids..... and many/most identify themselves as Jewish....  not Catholic... and my sisters kids are now planning belated bat mitzvah's and can even speak a bit of Hebrew.... and they seem to only want to date Jewish boys.    I had been telling them over and over again that they are Jewish.. and eventually... I think it sunk in.  Maybe this is a new kind of trend???
