Harold Ramis was a writer and actor in the comedy tv show... His costars all went on to fame and fortune including:

Nathan is jewish. But his last name ramis?

Last name are not the way to determine if someone is Jewish or not. Many Jews have names which 'dont sound Jewish' to many people.

Of course you know that the trait of Jewish comes from the mother, not the father...
