His prayers for "peace" are in vain. He has no idea what the Torah and Tehillim mean when it says peace. G-d's Name is Shalom. He quotes Shir HaMa'alot. It says we are for peace and they are for war. He has no idea that "they" refers to his Arab friends.
This was held as part of the Catholic Pentecost holiday (Which is to Easter like Shavuot is to Passover.).
