Why do so many Jews consider him a hero if he worked with Britain to prevent Jews from entering Eretz Yisrael?

"Perfidy" by Ben Hecht, Z"L, documents the evils of Ben Gurion. He's an anti-hero, if not worse.

he still done much for Israel, you won't be elected for PM for nothing; Wait Smolmert was. ::)

For all his many, many failings, at least Ben-Gurion drove out most of the Arabs from Israel during the war of independance and when he was Prime Minister.
