Title: Awesome music.
Post by: Tag-MehirTzedek on December 16, 2014, 01:04:02 AM
Awesome music, I would like to share with you. (Don't know where the list is).
Also a request help in downloading this as I know their are some good experts here. Tried Youtube to MP3 but its not working on these video's. Any other method?
I wouldn't mind maying for them but I don't know where to buy the songs and if on CD if the CD will allow me to put them into Phone (MP3). CD's are useless for me.

I've told you about youtube-dl, a script for Linux and Windows which can download any video file. Once you have the video file you can use any number of ways to extract just the audio.

Of course this is the kind of work I do (digital video & audio decoding and coding)... As I think scripts are the most powerful I would use youtube-dl and ffmpeg (to extract the audio mp3 stream).

Thanks. The One I have is simple. It usually works for MOST but not all video's. I have a program that's already on my desktop.

About these 2, I don't know how to use them. What do you do? Where you put the link? Are you sure their is no virus and such issues?

youtube-dl just takes the URL of the video and will create a file in the current directory. For the version of Linux I run the youtube-dl program is available in the 'software center' (a repository of easily downloaded and installed apps). I have not used it on Windows (but the website indicates that it should world with the included python interpreter).

For instance

youtube-dl -t https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIJr8d05G18

This will download a file יניב בן משיח - רקדו לכבוד בורא עולם _ yaniv ben mashiach-lIJr8d05G18.mp4

ffmpeg -i "יניב בן משיח - רקדו לכבוד בורא עולם _ yaniv ben mashiach-lIJr8d05G18.mp4" -acodec copy audio.mp3

Will extract the audio to the file audio.mp3....

Im sorry I don't know an easy GUI app to do this... I'm sure there are apps (probably for pay) on WIndows which does this.

I believe it you click this it will download the installer...

https://yt-dl.org/downloads/2014.12.16/youtube-dl.exe

Download it and execute it...

Read the documentation on the script.

http://rg3.github.io/youtube-dl/documentation.html

You will have to execute the command in a shell 'Command Prompt'...

Are you familiar with the command prompt? You may have to set the path environment so that the shell will be able to find the applications.

I just extracted the audio myself here.... Sorry it is not easy... I found a thing called WinFF which has a GUI though...

Read this page for an idea:

http://winff.org/html_new/downloads.html

I believe VLC is also available for windows.

I've been listening to Yaniv Ben Mashiach for years.  He has always been one of my favorite.  The duo song of him and Zion Golan, Shiru La'El Navonay  ( I think I transliterated it correctly)  is one of my favorite of all Jewish songs..
