Baruch Dayen HaEmet (Blessed is the true judge)...
I have recently been watching the old TOS Star Trek episodes. Just two weeks ago I spoke about Star Trek with my Rabbi and he didn't know who Spock or Kirk was (he is only in his early 30s). I sent him a video of Leonard Nimoy at the time. I did not know he was so close to his end though.

From my perspective 83 is a long life... My father did not live that long, his mother nor his father did either... My mothers parents didn't make it that long either...

I loved the original Star Trek series, as well as Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, and Star Trek 3: The Search For Spock.
I was never crazy for Star Trek TNG, although I did like the character Lwaxana Troi, and that episode where Warf wanted to kill himself rather than be a cripple for life ("Ethics").

Unfortunately, Mr. Nimoy was no friend of Israel, nor was he a proud Jew...
