I was wondering about this the other day myself.... Golf (which I personally hate but my brother and step-dad played regularly) was a predominantly white sport for ages and blacks were not allowed to play at most Golf Clubs (they could be the servants though)... So now it is a 'needle in the eye' for good black golfers (like Tiger Woods) to prove that blacks can play golf too.
