Wanderingsamurai81, I saw your upcoming ' Ask JTF' question regarding Multiple Myeloma. Sadly, my stepfather passed away from this disease in 1999, after a 2 year battle with the disease.
The following charity, which I highly recommend, discusses what Multiple Myeloma is about and the research/ efforts to find a cure:
Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation ( MMRF )

My father also passed away from leukemia this past October. I think his was called aggressive myeloma.
Eb22 I'm sorry to hear about your stepfather.

Lisa, I'm very sorry about the loss of your father. I remember meeting him at a JTF Meeting. I hope that any pain he had was as minimal as humanly possible and that you and your family are doing as well as one can under the extremely difficult circumstance.
Thanks for your thoughts about my stepfather. He passed away back in 1999. Ironically, he previously had a bout with leukemia. At first we thought the leukemia came back. But the Multiple Myeloma was a separate disease that proved too much for him to overcome despite a courage battle.

Thank you for the kind words, Eb22. I hope your stepfather also suffered as little as possible.
