Israel must welcome Syrian refugees: Labour's Herzog

Opposition Labour party leader Isaac Herzog called Saturday for Israel to take in Syrian refugees, recalling the plight of Jews who sought refuge from past conflicts.
Speaking at a panel discussion in Tel Aviv, he called on the government "to act toward receiving refugees from the war in Syria, in addition to the humanitarian efforts it is already making."
There is already hostility in Israel toward asylum-seekers from Africa and a concerted government effort to repatriate them.
Official figures show there are 45,000 illegal immigrants in the Jewish state, almost all from Eritrea and Sudan.
Most of those who are not in detention centres live in poor areas on the south side of Tel Aviv, where there have been several protests against them.
Someone identifying himself as Sefi Kamrani wrote on Herzog's Facebook page: "Take all the refugees into your home if you're so worried about them. I'd like to see you live just one week in south Tel Aviv."
Meanwhile, Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas called on the United Nations Saturday to press Israel to allow Palestinians from refugee camps in Syria to take shelter in the Palestinian territories, whose external borders are controlled by the Jewish state.
"President Abbas has asked the Palestinian representative to the UN to implement as quickly as possible, in coordination with the UN secretary general, measures for the return of Palestinian refugees from Syria to the Palestinian territories," his office said.
The UN says there are more than 525,000 Palestinian refugees at its camps in Syria, many of whom have been displaced by the civil war there.
Israel has long been treating wounded Syrians who reach Israeli lines on the occupied Golan Heights, but hostility among the Druze of the area has flared due to rebel attacks on their brethren in Syria.
In June Druze attacked an Israeli military ambulance on the Golan transporting wounded Syrians to hospital, killing one of them.
Previously, Druze in northern Israel's Galilee region stoned a military ambulance they suspected was taking Syrian rebels to hospital.

Herzog is totally insane.
He's telling small Israel to take in Syrian refugee's while there are 22 Arab countries and 57 Muslim countries.
Let the Muslims take in these refugee's not Israel.
How stupid is this Herzog? No wonder Obama and the Europeans wanted Herzog to win the election last March.

There are dozens of Muslim countries that they can go to. Israel already has enough problems with illegal aliens.

Fortunately the Syrian migrants have more sense then Herzog, so they travel to Germany. And I have a counter offer- let's help the Arabs in Israel engage in the same one way travel.

By the way the Arabs always claim they are attached to the land and nothing could make them leave, well in fact a welfare paycheck is all it takes to make them detach from their land.

That's why we have Isis driving the movement to get rid of Christians and non-Christians if they aren't Islamic....causing this big population explosion of all different nationalities to infiltrate other countries. Reminds me of the Tower of Babel...No one could speak the same language or get anything done. They were useless, that was there punishment for arrogance and pride to build a tower to the sky and act like God.

They enter as humanitarian refugees. Then they turn themselves in to proletariat and start demanding the skies. Then they say that they are muslamics and they start demanding the Chhariat, Mazhab, Jihaad and what not. Ultimately everywhere they will not settle for anything except for the rule of the Muslamic Caliphate.

These refugees are Trojan Horse for wherever they go.

Don't fall for it, among the so called refugees will be Radical Islamic Jihadists. They are going to create chaos and form the caliphate.
