Title: question about Rabbi Kahane
Post by: t_h_j on December 29, 2015, 04:16:04 PM: I was watching "inside the american mob" on netflix, and they were talking about mafia boss Joe Colombo. Then, they basically used this as a picture of him. is that Rabbi Kahane with Joe Colombo?

The Jews and Italians had mutual interests then and now. So they worked together to further their own agendas.

Colombo was no slumlord, and he was going legit at the time. Plus as I wrote Jews and Italians had mutual interests. The Rav zt'l was a good way for Colombo to clean up his act and Colombo was a way for the Rav zt'l to get weapons for the JDL as well as political support.

Probably not a slumlord, but he was a criminal and murderer...

"In 1971, Colombo aligned the League with Rabbi and political activist Meir Kahane's Jewish Defense League (JDL), claiming that both groups were being harassed by the federal government.[9] At one point, Colombo posted bail for 11 jailed JDL members."

The young person in the back is thin and does look like Chaim. Chaim would have been 14 and a half then. The person looks like he has some stubble on his face and thus is about 16 or 17 or 18. It could just be a shadow though.
