Right-wing, in the Opposite direction...meaning to say hating the views of JTF to the most extremist point possible. That goes for my Dad. My mum has a weird support for some economic communistic ideologies and can be quite a patriotic Brit too. My sister and brother are liberals with religious views on controversial topics.

My grandmother was the secretary if the New York Communist Party.

My grandfather was good friends with Edward Said.

I come from from a long line of libs.

Alot of full on communists in my family.

I'm glad not to be following in their footsteps.

Re:  "...grandmother was the secretary if the New York Communist Party..."

In the 1930's many intellectuals and truth-seeking individuals were attracted to Communism, believing it promised an end to war, an end to unemployment, recession, and depression, and seeing in its literature and propaganda a "scientific" system of political order which would end divisions based on class and race.

When Stalin signed his Treaty with Nazi Germany, and rumors of purges, torture, slave labor,  and concentration camps inside "The Workers' Paradise" began reaching the West, the majority of American Communist Party members began to become disillusioned and feel that they had been deceived.

Only when considering the actual socio-economic & political realities of the U.S. and the rest of the world during the 1920's & 1930's is it possible to understand Communism's appeal.

Much of the status quo we take for granted today, did not exist during those days.  The Communist Party was the first and only political movement calling for equal rights among races and women's full rights, and it was the only voice denouncing Colonialism and Imperialism by the Western powers and denouncing Anti-Semitism (throughout the U.S. Jews were forbidden access to higher education, certain professions, and even access to hotels and motels...signs would be hung right out in the open reading things such as "NO JEWS OR DOGS ALLOWED"...the few universities which would accept Jews had a "Jew quota" limiting admittance to only a handful of applicants.)

In light of what I've described above (just the tip of the iceberg) it becomes more understandable why a brand new philosophy and political order which promised "pie in the sky" to each and all would be found attractive to many young people back in that time.

With all we know of Communism today, with its history of enslavement, murder, genocide, and totalitarian rule, membership in "The Party" seems unforgivable.

My grandparents were indoctrinated Bolsheviks, but they did live under Stalinist rule. My great-uncle was a high-ranking general in the Soviet Army. He was a famous war hero in Georgia, one of a few Jews who didn't have a problem putting a bullet between some Nazi eyes, which is how one wins a war (he could have taught the IDF something).

Then again, I did have relatives who were imprisoned and tortured under the Soviet Regime...

My mother is genrally apathetic, my father zt''l was conservative but somewhat pragmatic, but he was the one who told me about JTF as being the only honest source of commentary he'd ever seen!

My father is a very right-wing, almost libertarian gentile who wants to cut down on government bureaucracy, welfare, corporate taxes, etc.  He's not a libertarian as most people know it, he supports American military involvement where necessary such as taking out the Iranian nukes.  He was an army Ranger who fought in Vietnam so he understands war.  My mother used to be a leftist but she is generally right-wing and she wants to see more severe action taken in Iran as well as Gaza.  She would also like Palestinians and Israeli arabs to be ejected from Eretz Yisrael.  My sister is very-right wing (partially because of me) and she is as politically incorrect and reasonable as I am.  My parents never taught me too much about politics although they had an undeniable influence on my beliefs, and most of my positions were acquired through my own thought.

Your father seems to be clasicall conservative without paleo or neo deviations; My father is rightist when it comes to social isssues; and centrist to economical, he' s quite nationalistic too; my mam is more liberal but not in american sense. They're not for or against Jews and tolerate my zionist zeal. ::)
