Diana Ross is a better black singer from that era. Her songs were regular songs that just happened to be sung by blacks. Aretha Franklin made me think of when Chaim said "I love dat old time gospel soul music. It so beautiful. UMM HMM HMM HMM HMM" on the show 15 years ago about the dance club in Chicago when they brought out mace instead of a banana and they trampled each other to death.
