Title: Halloween Display
Post by: Joe Gutfeld on September 25, 2007, 06:11:25 PM
A store in Long Island is selling Holloween supplies and one of the displays is of a black man being lynched.  The display has been pulled.  I just heard this story on the news.

Wow. When we lived on Long Island there was a seasonal halloween decor and costume store that displayed on the outside of their store. I can't remember where though. That sounds really harsh. I'm glad they took it down.

Halloween was formerly a Scottish religious festival. Chrsitians kept the external tradition but changed its meaning to be simply fun. In that way pagan Scoits would not realise so easily that their culture was being destroyed. The same was done with nearly all native European religious Feast. The Reborn of the Sun was kept in Christmas, the Summer Solstice was changed by the Sint John Festivity. In all cases the rite was kept but the real meaning was lost.
This tactic used by the Church was so effective that in a short time the pre-Christian European culture was not only destroyed but also forgotten. Not to worry too much about it, after all they just destroyed pagan cults but..... be carefull!!!!!!! The same tactic is used today by leftist and secularists against Judaism. Note that today the anti-Torah, anti-Semites do not only tolerate but even take part in some Jewish Festivals, they may attend Hanuka public menorah lightings and other public Jewish celebrations as far as they are emtpied of their original meaning. They promote "religious tolerance" but at the same time they try to erradicate the real Judaism, Kashrut, Jewish marriage, Shabbat.....

When I was in 10th Grade, I drew Cartman in his Hitler Halloween costume in Spanish class and got suspended even though I'm Jewish. My dad wouldn't let me and my sister watch South Park because it was a bad influence.

this show should be limited to adult viewers only,
it is a bad influence, though not so much for older kids such as 10th graders ,
in our days many 10th graders are already parents to kids of their own..

I don't even pay attention to Halloween, when kids ring my bell either I ignore it or just put a sign out on the door saying "No one lives here anymore".  Hey! It works, try it.

I also ignore the door on Halloween. When I was little, I went trick or treating. When I was 13 and 14, I just went on my street and without a costume and I didn't even eat the candy anymore at that age. By the time I was 15, I decided that Halloween is not for Jews.

What do you mean, Yacov, about Halloween not being for Jewish people?

Halloween is the birthday of Anton Zandor LaVey...the author of the Satanic Bible.

Halloween is EVIL!!!

I used to love Holloween when I was a kid.  Now, I can't eat the leftover candy I buy for the kids.

Last year Chaim said on Ask JTF that Halloween is the one holiday that he will also tell Gentiles not to follow. He said he doesn't like the idea of dressing up as ghosts and goblins, or something like that. Not to mention that he thinks the candy isn't healthy. ;D

:D My neighbour gives out raisin packets and healthbars!
Its all related to satanic things and is meaningless.

The fact that it has become almost a tradition to participate, whatever religion one is, is a bad thing. I find it pretty pointless as well, just an excuse to waste eggs and loo roll........not to mention every store selling halloween related things and packaging.

Halloween is just as similar as Valentines day.
