They sell Glatt Kosher bison and it's healthier than beef.
-
I've seen it on the menu before in restaurants, but I was too disgusted to try it. I eat a limited diet in terms of meats only chicken/chicken, some fish, and lean red meat on very rare occasion. Anything outside of this is too exotic (even a duck).
-
I've had it. It tastes alright (didn't love it or hate it) but it's too dry.
-
Never had it, is it good?
-
Again, I don't like anything too exotic. I actually prefer meats mass produced so I know things are pretty much raised uniformly. If you like exotic foods, you could join one of those fancy clubs that have dinners where they eat extremely rare foods (I'm sure they have kosher ones as well). They can be quite expensive though.

You mean like SPAM? ???
-
no not processed, I mean raised in numbers on a farm out somewhere. I wouldn't eat that mush for a million bucks.
-
Locusts are kosher? Who knew?
-
Ive never had it, Im not meat adventurous, I'll stick with beef and chicken breast, only kinds Ill eat.
-
Is crocodile meat kosher? What about whale or sealmeat?
-
I don't think so.
-
Purely hypothetically. Imagine that the genetic scientists of the future create a new breed of mutant pigs that chew cud. Would these pigs become kosher?
-
You don't even like turkey
we have it 2 times a year, its alright, as long as its white meat and has gravy

Would that be Thanksgiving and Christmas?
Do you celebrate Easter or is Christmas the only Christian holiday you celebrate?
Just Christmas, we use to get easter baskets when we were little, and have dinner with family, we would have turkey then too because I refused to eat ham....we dont do that anymore, we are all grown and out of the house.
-
So are Thanksgiving and Christmas when you eat turkey? You don't even buy pieces of turkey for the rest of the year?
No, its not my favorite thing, I don't mind eating it twice a year but thats all.

thats it, the only other holidays we celebrate are memorial day, and 4th of July, both times we have family bbq's.
-
sure!
-
I celebrate all Jewish holidays plus the American holidays that you celebrate. I also have BBQ's on Labor Day. Do you boycott that because it's a Bolshevik holiday?
Not really, its just so close to the first day of school we are always busy, sometimes we go camping.

Did the rest of your family eat ham on Easter?
No we had turkey, i cant even stand the smell of it cooking so they didnt have it
-
Do you celebrate Thanksgiving as a religious holiday? I do but I'm the only one in my family that makes it into something religious.
No, we do all recount what we are thankful for, we have plenty to be thankful for and I try to remember that all year, not just that day

Did you ever eat it before? Is that how you turned against it?
No ive just been turned off by the smell and look of it, same as with seafood

Isn't bison,Cow!
-
bison is buffalo
-
no bison is buffalo, same animal.
buffalo wings, just the chicken wing invented in the anchor bar in buffalo ny, franks redhot, butter based sauce.
-
Chaim has said he hasn't seen any kosher buffalo but he sees schvartza buffalo. Someone in JDL once said that schvartzas are proof that man had relations with the buffalo. I don't agree with that and I like buffaloes. I think they're cool. They look tough but it's insulting to compare them to schvartzas.
I agree, buffalos are pretty cool looking animals
-
Yes, I like Bison. To eat it ? I don't know, what is it taste like...?
-
I had it once in a soup and once as a burger. It was real good in the soup. In the burger it just tasted like and ordinary hamburger.
-
I love Bison. But I don't have it much anymore because the local Kosher butcher no longer carries it.
-
I like bison but not to eat them.
-
Purely hypothetically. Imagine that the genetic scientists of the future create a new breed of mutant pigs that chew cud. Would these pigs become kosher?
I'm not a Posek, but I'm almost positive that would be treif, because it would still, originally, have to come from a Pig. And if an animal that has, by accident, the additional qualities it needs to make it Kosher, it is still treif.
-
I LOVE bison...in my plate.
;D
-
Delicious!
-
Bison is very good ;D O0
