Chabad Rabbis Help California Firefighters
(IsraelNN.com) While many residents of southern California in the United States have fled their homes due to raging wildfires, four Chabad rabbis have chosen to stay in the Gan Israel camp east of Los Angeles in order to provide food and comfort to weary firefighters. The group, led by Gan Israel head Rabbi Yosef Broed, has provided firefighters with food, encouragement, and a place to sleep as well as assistance in attaching fire hoses to the camp’s water supply.
Rabbi Broed, Rabbi Shalom Harlig, and brothers Rabbi Levi Cunin and Rabbi Chaim Cunin said they plan to stay at the camp as long as possible, with Rabbi Broed explaining that “God is going to watch over our place.”
