It is way more then just the "hip hop" thing, it goes way deeper then that.  Billions have been poured alone in over the last 50 years alone in these inner cities and the worst results come out of it.  You put money in housing projects within weeks windows are shattered and smell of urine all over, crack viles littered in hall ways.   It is a rot.   Didn't Rabbi Kahane said they are the eternal mal content?  I think Chaim a few times mentioned that.

You guys ask what's being done in the black community to stop certain things, then question why other things in the community aren't being taken care of. We can't stop what's already been started, when it comes to what shape public housing projects are in...we can help to change the menality of those who reside there. It took years for them to get to where they are, it'll take many more to get them where they need to be.

My husband, my family , and friends came out of the projects and consider ourselves lucky to be GREAT results.

What? My abortion may not have been justified? Do me a favor, jdl. When you become a woman who  has taken a precaution not to become pregnant, is in danger of being sick with the same disease with every pregnancy which takes away YOUR mobility, swells up every part of your body, prevents you from taking care of your other children, being sick until the day you give birth (prematurely) , seeing your child hooked up to machines in NICU...then you talk to me. I already cleared what I did with God and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't look at other babies and feel guilt. In the end, I did what I had to do for my own health, sanity, and to be available for my other children because they couldn't take care of themselves. Having ecclampsia and Pre ecclampsia 3 times in a row was dangerous for me...imagine what a fourth time would have been like.

The Jena Six situation. The white boy called the black boys derrogatory names and the black boys jumped him for it. It wasn't a good idea for them to do, because they could have easily walked away from the situation. Who started it? Both the black boys and the white kid started it.

That's funny my Orthodox Rabbi said those were the three Halachically justifiable situations under Judaism for abortion, thus Jews must be pro-Abortion because if all abortions were outlawed it would thus violate the three stipulations under Halacha...

I don't understand how you cannot see logic Erica.  If a woman is raped she is granted an abortion, as too with the product of incest and if her life is in danger due to the birth/pregnancy process.  Judaism places the woman far ahead of the unborn child...  Nothing whatsoever to do with being the victim's fault they got pregnant.  I don't know how you came up with that comment....

I am a sexual abuse survivor. I'm more than sure that if I had become pregnant because I was raped at 17, I would have aborted because  the rape was enough to break me...imagine if I had been pregnant by the rapist how deep into depression, guilt, and most likely suicidal thoughts I'd have been in? I was speaking from a sexual abuse survivor's point of view in response to Odkahane's opinion. When women are looked down upon for aborting because of incest or rape, I think that's sad.

It's not stupid. I don't think men think about the well-being of the victim when it comes to pregnancy and rape. They expect the victim to snap back as though nothing happened and move on with life. It's not that easy. Since you aren't a woman and have never experienced terrible circumstances surrounding the need to abort, I wouldn't expect you to understand.

Sorry to hear of your unfortunate experience.  I must say that it doesn't surpize me whatsoever considering, what is it now, 1 in 3 women will be sexually assaulted in their lifetime?  This is revolting.  I remember when the chances were so low that it wasn't even an issue.  I guess there are many factors that contributed to this: The Pill, Feminism, Sexual Liberation, "The Civil Rights Movement" and the total moral collapse of the West as Socialism now replaces any aspect of Conservatism...  imo

Who is your Rabbi?  I have never heard of such an opinion.  BTW, when Dina was raped by Shchem, she had the baby, even though she was only 12 (or maybe it was 10).  This baby (according to many opinions) was Asenas, who was the wife of Yosef, and the mother of Ephraim and Menashe, and therefore she was the ancestor of the great prophet Yehoshua.  Just something to think about...

I respect that bit of info, but that has nothing to do with how women psychologically deal with rape, incest and pregnancy because of the abuse. not every woman will be as strong as another woman who gives birth to a rapist's baby. I think women who do that are admirable because they are able to separate the abuse from giving birth. You cannot expect a woman who has been abused in either case to just snap back into her old self because a woman in Jewish history gave birth and kept the baby.

I respect that bit of info, but that has nothing to do with how women psychologically deal with rape, incest and pregnancy because of the abuse. not every woman will be as strong as another woman who gives birth to a rapist's baby. I think women who do that are admirable because they are able to separate the abuse from giving birth. You cannot expect a woman who has been abused in either case to just snap back into her old self because a woman in Jewish history gave birth and kept the baby.

I'm not denying that it will be extremely psychologically difficult for the raped woman, but that's not a reason to kill a person.
