Searching for a diamond

By The Truro Daily News

Upon reading the article by Mr. Matthews concerning the "federalizing" of Canadian education (policy) I must emphatically disagree with the findings.

OBE, Outcome Based Education is, and has always been, a total disaster. Centralization, or socialization, is the problem.

Joseph Stalin's "political correctness" must be stricken from the entire system, replaced with factual correctness.

The current Skinnerian Psychological Conditioning of John Dewey's Progressive Education: Marxism infects all levels of Canadian academia and must be eradicated for any improvement whatsoever to be noticed.

Toss out socialism with its big bureaucracy, the New Age garbage and the mendacities from the socio-political "left" for what fostered the entire civilized world: Christian conservatism; family, morality, nation, culture, Judeo/Christian ethics, competition, individualism, small government, low taxes and freedom, etc.

One need only to walk down any street in any town in Canada, and subsequently the entire 'West', to see the appalling effects of its embracement of "international socialism."

Dr. David Horowitz is correct in his book "The Professors", Oswald Spengler was largely accurate in his "Decline of the West" and most assuredly Charlotte Iserbyte Thompson was absolutely truthful in her very applicable work "The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America."

Centralization: "Federalization" of our education will expand the problem not eliminate it.

"To find a Conservative in Canadian Academia today is like searching for a diamond in a toilet ." – Dr. S. Sussman

Dear Murzutra, I am not familiar with the way one becomes a teacher in Canada, but if it is like anything in the USA you guys are in big trouble. Here in America if you want to work as a public school teacher you must take teachers education. Say for instance, in New York City to be a math teacher in high school , you major in what is called education. This involves taking all kinds of mumbo jumbo courses in sociology such as 'inner city sensitivity', 'the learning differences in inner city youth (inner city youth is a code word for blacks),'a multicutural approach to learning' etc., I am sure you see where I am going. As far as taking courses in math, you take the bare minimums. The education degree is a give away to minorities since it so easy to pass blacks and hispanics can attain a degree with little or no effort. Things are different in the better private schools. They go after math majors that have their degrees in math or science teachers that have their degrees in their respective disciplines. You could teach graduate school physics at MIT and would be ineligible to teach in a New York City school. Even with all the give aways to the blacks, they still can't pass the teacher qualification tests. I have seen copies of the test and a complete moron could pass it without any kind of preparation. I can't believe that Canada has also gone down this road. Please say it isn't so.

It is so.  As a matter of fact, my friend just quit the teacher's program BEd. at Brock University for everything that you stated.  In Canada one can only teach with a Bachelor's degree in "education".  At the University level one must have at least a Master's or better to teach, but most have PhD's...even though there are growing numbers of "PhD's" teaching within our "higher" education from places like Sri Lanaka, Bangledesh, Nigeria, Egypt, Yeman, Karachi or Beijing while our Ol-Whitey's head off to the US to teach there or the real liberal ones go to Africa to teach as part of our contribution to the UN...

It is absolutely appalling.  Canadian academia is far worse than America, not in dumbed down wise although it sure may be a close second but in Leftist/Socialist hedonism indoctrination.  Everything I wrote is, in all actuality, true.  I do believe I will have pissed off many Canadian teachers with that post in the local newspaper.  It certainly is appalling.  We have the similar "no child left behind" schema here with racial profiling to get into university and teach at the universities.  Anything in advocation of Liberal, Socialist, Theosophy, Humanism, Communism and, so recently with the Dr. Sossa of St. Frances Xavior Univerity's attending the Holocaust Denial Conference in Iran, Nazism, all under the guise of "Freedom of Education".  On the other hand, when Conservative Dr. Phillip J. Rushton published, what seems to be a factually correct but not "politically correct" study on black/asian/white iq/culture: "Race Evolution and Behavior" and did Professor Dr. David Mullan published an article on his private website against one being "born" into homosexuality, both were publically condmned and had to spend time in suspension without pay....   ....  I hope I painted an accurate picture of the psychological conditioning going on here in Canada towards: "tolerance", "diversity", "multiculturalism", "equality", "globalism" and "progressiveness"...
