Who's ever ascended the Temple Mount?
« on: May 05, 2008, 08:05:02 PM »
Hi fellow JTFers.

Who's ever ascended the Temple Mount? Anybody?

It would be nice if you could share your experience, and maybe some pictures if you have 'em.  :)

// I'm saving up my money for a trip to Israel next winter (I CAN'T WAIT!) . I hope to ascend the Mount with a guide from the Temple Institute.

I've seen the english video tour that is available from the Universal Torah Network.

I'm a fan of Rabbi Richman ever since.

I came across a DVD program for the computer put out by The Shulchan Aruch Learning Project. This great little Cd is a free give away to get you to sign up for their programs. It has a tour of the tunnels under the Temple Mount and a tour of the museum where they are assembling artifacts to be used in the temple rebuilding process. This CD was the greatest it is filmed so well it almost feels like you are walking through the tunnels as you watch it.

Yes its a great cd it even has some basic Hebrew teaching. The tunnel tour was something. I found the CD in a pile of discs someone had put in a yard sale.

I would love to visit Israel and take a tour of the Temple Mount.  But, I think I would rather do it after they remove that domed outhouse from the top of it.

Yeah.

I've been wondering lately about what could be the political reasons why the Jewish people don't reclaim possession of the Mount, and rebuild the Temple?

// Rabbi Richman says that the Jewish people should rebuild the Temple, (not to wait for the Messiah to be present in order to building it).

Who's stalling / trying to prevent the rebuilding of the Temple?

I'm saving up my money for a trip to Israel next winter (I CAN'T WAIT!) . I hope to ascend the Mount with a guide from the Temple Institute.

I went up 3 times. Once with Rabbi Richman, once with another rabbi, and once by myself. I was able to get up alone because I wore a baseball hat rather than a kippa and they didn't go through the whole "ceremony" with me how they make all the religious Jews go through when they go up as a group. The ceremony involves the police telling religoius Jews not to pray and waiting for someone to escort them. I call it ceremony because David HaIvri called it that on a Revava audio when he was trying to bring 10,000 Jews to The Temple Mount.

I would not want to tread on the Sanctified Area. That's the main reason why I want to be accompagnied by an Ortodox Rabbi.

So Yeah...Even though I'm a Gentile, and I don't look Jewish, I'm expecting that Wakf / Israeli Secret Services monitoring  :-\

Can  you tell me about the specific preparations you went trough in order to ascend the Mount in purity?

Thanks!
