the original modern Herzl onwards, the one that created and run the state of israel. Were very very evil.
Herzl for example , wanted to end anti-semitism, and in doing so, he had plan A and plan B.
Plan A was for jews to convert to christianity.
They were socialist zionists - wanted to wipe out judaism.
After they were on the scene, came "revisionist zionists" who were secular, but not evil. They wanted to save all jews, religious ones too, from the holocaust. And you have religious zionists which in the early days were only one or two rabbis . And only much later, grew.
The socialist zionists were the worst. When there was a risk that the irgun would contest their power, they murdered lots of them. Ben Gurion ordered Yitzchak Rabin to shoot at them - them included menachem begin!!
So there are many different groups of zionists.
(by the way, alot of the quotes attributed to ben gurion, are falsified. He was more right wing than Olmert, but not as right wing as muslims present him)
As you must have noticed, there is a big rift between religious and secular.. They do not and cannot sit under one banner. I have seen an article where it was expressed as Jews vs Israelis!
