I wonder if the anti-American and particularily the anti-right wing oil producing countries are cutting supply to influence the elections. High gas prices are a winning platform for the left even if McCain became a Greenpeace hardcore environmentalist. They want Obama in the White House more than anyone and he can assure his rise to power if the USA is weak and under economic strain.
Another horrible prospect could be that the Muzzies see that they're time is now. The top Saudi imans have not yet declared Jihad and not only can they weaken the West with a cutback in supply but they can stregnthen their economic positions. They can have the West in such a bad situation that the only way out would be for the West to turn to the Muslims. They may ask for conversions for oil. They are already buying up huge shares in companies, real estate and other cheap US commodities. They know the oil will eventually run out so they need to use the economic power they have while they can. Saudi Arabia has been buying tons of weapons and this recent upsurge in the price of oil can only contribute to that. Obama talks about windfall profits from oil companies but doesn't talk about unbelieveable oil profits from the Gulf. He's attacking the middlemen but not the suppliers. They are making way more money than they ever have and I'm afraid they see that their time is coming. We have to stop using oil and go solar and wind. We also need to stop being fat, lazy pigs and killing ourselves. What is wrong with Americans who don't care about the country but low prices from other countries. We have millions of idiots and traitors throughout the West.
