Dr. Dan I have a very good Shiur for you, where you will definitely understand and see things much better (he will explain it to you much better then me, although I see you understand me).
http://www.kolyakov.org/Rabbi/Ilan_Meirov/ - This is Rabbi Ilan Meirov, he's a very good guy, a great Torah scholar (He used to be my Havruta, and I do believe that I did influence him in some of the Halachot brought by Rav Kahane ZTL, in the discussions we had  :D - dealing with the arab problem, etc.) Truly a righteous Tzaddik who does a lot of work in public and especially behind the scenes (I know of a few great things he does, but his brothers told me to not tell people because he just doesn't want the attention).
listen to "Commandments or Suggestions" - its very good, and its short (like 1/2 an hour).
The Academy of Elijah taught, whoever studies the laws (of the Torah) every day, (he) is guaranteed to have a share in the World to Come.

‏119:139 צִמְּתַתְנִי קִנְאָתִי כִּישָׁכְחוּ דְבָרֶיךָ צָרָי
My zeal incenses me, for my adversaries have forgotten Your words.
‏119:141 צָעִיר אָנֹכִי וְנִבְזֶה פִּקֻּדֶיךָ, לֹא שָׁכָחְתִּי.
I am young and despised; I have not forgotten Your precepts.

" A fool does not realize, and an unwise person does not understand this (i.e. the following:) When the wicked bloom like grass, and the evildoers blossom (i.e. when they seem extremly successful), it is to destroy them forever (i.e. they are rewarded for their few good deeds in this World, and they will have no portion in the World to Come!)
