I still hate this song
« on: December 01, 2009, 09:38:12 PM »
I'm still getting bombarded with really horrible so-called Christmas carols at work over the speaker system. Some of the songs that irritate me are some of the Jackson 5 songs, and the "aye aye aye it's Christmas" third world song. These songs make me want to scream  :'( :yuck: :disease:

Even worse, worse than all of them, is "Do they know it's Christmas". Yes, I complained about this song last year, but I think it needs to be mentioned again for those who missed my previous rant.

Most Christmas songs talk about peace on earth, love for other people, being with family, enjoying food, or at least promote a sense of joy and peace. Not this one. This one seems to want to take every Western person out and beat them to death for daring to be happy and celebrate.

Here's the lyrics broken down with my commentary:

Quote
It's Christmastime
There's no need to be afraid

Nothing about Christmas ever made me feel afraid, not until these morons brought up the subject. It just doesn't make any sense.

Quote
At Christmastime, we let in light and we banish shade
And in our world of plenty we can spread a smile of joy
Throw your arms around the world at Christmastime

It looks like they mean forget about your own families, your own communities, your own countries; you need to throw your arms around the WORLD. Do they really mean the whole world though? They're not exactly crying out to help brave, little Israel here. No, they'll get to whom they really want you to worship shortly.

Quote
But say a prayer

Pray for the other ones
At Christmastime it's hard, but when you're having fun

In other words, How dare you have fun?

Quote

There's a world outside your window
And it's a world of dread and fear
Where the only water flowing is the bitter sting of tears
And the Christmas bells that ring there are the clanging
chimes of doom
Well tonight thank God it's them instead of you

Merry Christmas! Fa la la la la la la la la!  :P This has to be the most uplifting, joyous Christmas song ever! The other songs just don't have enough dread and fear! No way Frosty the snowman or Rudolf the red nosed reindeer can compete with chimes of doom!

Quote
And there won't be snow in Africa this Christmastime

Quote
The greatest gift they'll get this year is life

Wait, wait, did they just say that's a great gift, after they mentioned the chimes of doom?

Quote
(Oooh) Where nothing ever grows

Quote
No rain nor rivers flow

Guess they never heard of the rainy season, and the Nile? Oh yeah... that just um, doesn't exist, right?

Quote
Do they know it's Christmastime at all?
They're too busy scarifying young three year olds to care.

Quote
(Here's to you) raise a glass for everyone
(Here's to them) underneath that burning sun
Do they know it's Christmastime at all?

Translation: "While you celebrate, drink wine, and be merry, they suffer under a burning sun. Don't you feel good now?"

Quote
Feed the world
Feed the world

Feed the world

Let them know it's Christmastime again

Feed the world
Let them know it's Christmastime again

This is world wide socialism that is being called for. The West should not go out of their way to put money in African dictator's pockets!

Great analysis, Rubystars.

But I will say that I liked the video where it showed all these prominent British musicians showing up to the recording studio dressed like slobs, and without their hair or makeup done.

I cant stand the... 'So this is Christmas, war is over song'...

ALSO, the 'Have yourself a merry little Christams' that mentions Kwanzaa at the end.

When I was a teenager, I worked in retail at a place that played the very same CD of about a dozen songs over and over and over. They're some of the most popular ones that you hear endlessly on the radio. Needless to say, I have a very deep hatred for many Christmas songs and it has nothing to do with Christmas or Gentiles. I really like some versions that Pavarotti sang, though.

That's exactly how I feel!

There are many songs I have trouble listening to now because I've had to hear them over, and over, and over, and over again and I associate them with being at work.

Would anyone want a Kwanzaa Karol????
RIGHT WING AMERICAN AND PROUD OF IT. IF YOU WANTED TO PROVE YOU WEREN'T A "RACIST" IN 2008 BY VOTING FOR OBAMA, THEN PROVE IN 2012 YOU ARE NOT AN IDIOT FOR VOTING AGAINST OBAMA!
