(IsraelNN.com) The Knesset House Committee will vote on Monday to determine whether or not to allow Knesset Member Professor Michael Ben-Ari (National Union) to eulogize former parliamentarian Rabbi Meir Kahane in the Knesset. House Speaker Reuven Rivlin (Likud), under pressure from the United States Embassy in Tel Aviv, is pushing to prevent the eulogy from taking place.
Professor Ben-Ari has accused Rivlin of employing a double standard by allowing freedom of expression to anti-Zionist lawmakers such as Ahmed Tibi (Raam Taal) but not to patriots like Ben-Ari when merely trying to speak in memory of his rabbi.
