More controversy? Jerusalem's Open House for Pride and Tolerance has decided Sunday to hold a gay pride parade in the capital this year as well, GLBT portal Gogay has reported.

The decision was taken by a 5 to 1 vote during the Open House's management committee meeting, which featured various community members who expressed their views on the subject. Most participants backed another parade in order to show they would not capitulate in the face of ultra-Orthodox and homophobic threats.

However, some participants did voice concern over the risks inherent in holding the parade, while others wondered whether the gay community has not lost its momentum.

Open House Director Hagai Elad said that the date for the next pride parade will be "set as soon as possible and be published following the completion of a brief process of checking the opportunities at our disposal in holding the parade."

"The Open House always saw special significance in holding the parade in Jerusalem as part of our struggle, and as part of the ongoing struggle to advance the rights of the community in the city and promote democratic values in the city," he said.

"This year, we have special circumstances, including the world pride events in August and the unprecedented waves of incitement against the community," Elad said.

"The Open House does not intend to be dragged to violence or give in to it," he added. "In the face of the violence, our response is on the one hand to continue standing up for our rights with determination, while at the same time do what we can do as organizers, within reason, in order to boost the event's security level."

Elad noted that the Open House has not yet discussed the matter with police.

"The successful holding of the parade in Jerusalem this year is an immense challenge," he said.

yeh im from Israel (thought it was suspected before due to my poor english).. what do you wanna do here for living? i ask because in some fields its rather difficult to find a job here. being so small, there's a lot of competition here in Israel for every position. if you are a real specialist in what you do, i suppose it won't be too difficult for you to find work. in many "lower rated" jobs,however,  the employers might actually prefer the arabs, as they dont demand as high salaries as many of the Jews do. tell me please, how it is in the US (i assume you're from there) about ALIYA? what are the arrangements? are there enough hebrew language courses available? by the way, here you automatically have the option to study Hebrew for free in an "ULPAN" (my dad did it, and he speaks ok).

I'm a programmer and have been for many years. I've heard there are a lot of high-tech jobs there and that I won't have much of a problem. I don't know tho.

To be honest, I don't even know where to start except for that site. I know about ULPAN but all the Hebrew stuff here is usually college level and expensive. I just got some software that's suppose to help me learn. I wish they had ULPAN here... if I wait to learn Hebrew there, what would I do for a living in the mean-time? Ya know?

ye, there's a big demand for good programmers here, and that i could tell even from the ads on the walls of the campus. i dont believe u will be required to know high level hebrew for your work, but i would highly recommend for you not to come here without a clue about where are u gonna work at. with the demand, however, there are still many unemployed programmers, so aliya is very important but u shouldnt suffer for it. i think u should call the "sochnut" about aliya arrangements. it would be much easier for u to come here for a week or so to find out things and related stuff. in any case, hebrew cousres here are abundent. i know from my parents (who made alyia from the ussr in 1990), that they had the opportunity to study some hebrew there, so do as much as u can even if the level taught there isnt so great. u really wont need extreme hebrew knowledge to be a programmer here, i even believe u can do it here without knowing hebrew. if you are good at programming, and have related recommendations or long history of working in the field, they will snatch you at once.
