Congressman Steve King (R-Iowa) is one of several members of Congress who have introduced legislation to repeal the recent healthcare reform package -- or what has come to be known as "ObamaCare." He believes the legislation's main objective is to expand the Democratic power base.
"ObamaCare is, in a large part, about expanding the existing dependency class so that the people [who] support and promote it -- Obama and his [fellow] Democrats -- can have a stronger and longer lasting political base," King explains. "It's about perpetual Democrat control of America."
Steve KingThe congressman adds that the president's effort to grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens is another way to expand the Democrats' base.
"Tell them when they arrive here that 'we'll give you a path to citizenship and you cash into this giant ATM called America; but in exchange, you need to vote for the Democrats who supported amnesty.' That is expanding again the dependency class for political power," King continues.
He insists the American people understand what the Democrats are doing and will reject them at the ballot box this November.
