Find out how he helped co-create the bouzoukitara, a combination electric guitar / bouzouki and how his famous paytan grandfather and father sparked his interest in music.

"My father used to take me and Kobi Farhi from Orphaned Land to synagogue when we were teenagers," Sassi reminisced, "and make us just sit and listen to piyyutim, to spiritual music from the Bible. And we sat there, two kids with Slayer t-shirts, listening and thought how it would sound with distorted guitars."

I admire Yossis spirit in trying to reach out with his music. As a person who spent almost 15 years as a rock music fan I know that music can bring people together and is a powerful agent in unity. People may scoff at the drum circle as it has become a symbol of mindless hippiedom but having been through that experience I can testify that drum circles do have an ability to bring a group together (at the right time and place).

Anyway, I like his music...
