What could go wrong?  "Dad" was stoned and is probably mildly retarded to begin with.  Also, Dad has at minimum two other kids, with different mothers of course.   Dad's oldest kid is 8; that means 25 year old Dad procreated for the first time at age 16.  So what could go wrong?

Not that it justifies or minimizes this tragedy... The truth is many, many children die in hot cars every year. Even in Israel this happens. Recently, a couple of months ago, there was the following story on Arutz Sheva's website:

Another Child Dies in Hot Parked Car
In yet another tragic incident, a three year-old child died in the searing heat in Beer Sheva.

A three year-old child has died in a hot parked car in the southern city of Beer Sheva.

Magen David Adom sources told Arutz Sheva that the child was found unconscious, not breathing and in critical condition. According to later reports, the child had climbed into the car on his own and got stuck. The car belongs to a member of the staff of the local immigrant absorption center, not to the child's family.

The child was rushed to Soroka Medical Centre after receiving first aid at the scene, but passed away soon after.

This case is the most recent in a string of incidents in which children were left in cars in Israel during the summer months.

Last Thursday a 7 year-old child was forced to escape the car he was in after being left in the heat for 2 hours in Tel Aviv. Passersby contacted the father, who rushed his son to hospital.

Recently, 14-month-old twins were left in a parked car in Nazareth, and an 8-month-old baby was left for 20 minutes in a car after witnesses spotted her. In both incidences the babies were rescued.

Earlier this summer, a five-month-old infant died after she was forgotten in a vehicle in the village of Shilo, about 45 minutes north of Jerusalem. Only a day later another child amid similar circumstances in the neighboring village of Dolev.

A similar incident occurred when a nine-month-old baby was found unconscious and later pronounced dead after having been left for several hours in a vehicle in Ramat Gan.

I really don't understand why people have to be this stupid every year. One of the worse cases I read about was somebody who had left their young child in the car and got to them before they died, but not before severe damage had been done. The child is going to be brain damaged for the rest of their life.
