"It is no secret that Israel is investing millions into solving the D/Tuma village house torching which has led to the death of an Arab child.

No rock is being left untouched. Police have published ads throughout the country pleading for help in solving the "crime". Special hotlines have been established in this unprecedented manhunt. It appears as if the police have no clue where to begin the investigation. This has not stopped them or the highest echelons of the Israeli political spectrum from condemning "settler hill-top youth" for the arson.

Last shabbat I had the unique privilege of having police officers visit my home twice searching for suspects. They came in for kiddush, who knows the last time they celebrated the ancient ritual of Kiddush on the Sabbath.

It turns out the cops were looking for a suspect who had merely attended a trial of a Jewish suspect unrelated to the D/Tuma arson. They came, in their words, "to warn him that it is not wise to attend such trials." Nothing like Israeli style democracy. Such a worthy reason to violate the sabbath in a Jewish state. The state we have been dreaming of for two thousand years. Such Yiddishe Nachas.

Thursday, as I was praying shachrit in the nearby town of Nofei Nehemya, elite police officers from the special YAMAR unit were having a picnic on my front lawn as they searched through my garbage hoping to find some sort of evidence linking the hill-toppers who frequent my abode regularly to take showers and grab a cup of coffee. I have been threatened on too many occasions to count, not to host hill-top youth.

The local mikva was threatened that they would have their water shut off if they allow hill-top youth to dunk in the Mikva. More than on one occasion, cops ran after the youth in the miqva trying to run them out of town.

I may be poor financially but i will not throw hungry kids out of my home or prevent them a glass of water or coffee. As far as i am concerned they are innocent until proven otherwise. And most of the things they are accused of are nothing but Mitzvot. If the cops had any hard core evidence they would not need to hold them without trial and without giving them their constitutional right to due process and a fair trial.

One woman had a great response to the witchhunt against "settlers" and to all of the awards being offered to those who help solve the D/Tuma arson.

Etti Matouf, a widow who lost her husband, the father of six who was murdered in front of his house in Bareket 5 years ago, "It would have been nice to see the many police posts 5 years ago when my husband was murdered". The murderers were never found. Who even remembers the case?

The country is being turned upside down to find those who torched the Arab house. In the meantime nobody cares about the hundreds of Jewish victims and the thousands of Arab attacks against Jews."
