Iron Dome intercepts rocket near Ashkelon

'Code red' alert in the Shaar Hanegev, Hof Ashkelon region; no injuries.

'Code red' alert sirens sounded in the Shaar HaNegev region, near Or Haner and Erez, the Gaza belt region, and in the Hof Ashkelon region Tuesday afternoon, shortly after 2:30 pm.

The Iron Dome Missile Defense system intercepted one rocket south of Ashkelon, Channel 2 reports.

No injuries or damage have been reported.

On Monday night, Palestinian Arab media reported that terrorists in Gaza fired a rocket at Israeli civilians, but missed and struck its own territory, just inside the border fence. No sirens were sounded in the Gaza belt region.

They are busy destroying beit knesset which is way more important than securing resident in the south.
