Technically, I guess it should since it's taking the name of G-d in vain.

I personally think that the Star Spangled Banner should be banned for our national anthem and should be replaced with America the Beautiful.

Ah, there ya go again having to bring race into this again. I assume you're referring to Ray Charles, right? I personally don't like the way he sang it. But I recognize that many people like and appreciate this style and it's all a matter of personal taste. I don't think he "bastardized" it in anyway. It's not like he remixed it into a rap or dance mix. I would be surprised if some singer does that next. Hey, if the Pachabel Canon in D, in my opinion by far the most sacred piece of music, can be transformed into a rap mix, then anything can.

No. This country was founded under G-d, and therefore, G-d should be recognized in every bit of Americana.
