Because our infrastructure and economy are designed around the automobile, many people simply don't feel the need for a train like that, so they haven't demanded it and one doesn't exist.  Too bad because it makes so much sense in the U.S. because of the size of the country.
"The Jews will eventually have to face up to what you're dealing with here.  The arabs will never love you for what good you've brought them.  They don't know how to really love.  But hate!  Oh, G-d, can they hate!  And they have a deep, deep, deep resentment because you have jolted them from their delusions of grandeur and shown them for what they are-a decadent, savage people controlled by a religion that has stripped them of all human ambition . . . except for the few cruel enough and arrogant enough to command them as one commands a mob of sheep.  You are dealing with a mad society and you'd better learn how to control it."

If it was built, and cheaper to run, people would use it. Boston-NY-D.C ? People would line up in droves to ride it!

We have The Acela Express but it's too expensive. Even regular Amtrak is expensive so I just take New Jersey Transit when I come to New York.

The hybrid bullet train is extremely fuel efficient, which would cut down the travel cost a lot.

Is that what The Acela is?

I don't know whether the Acela is diesel or not.. but it's definitely not hybrid.

That almost looks like a drawing. Is it a real photograph?

That's a real photo, coolest train I've ever seen!
