Black Friday..........

Robert Shaw is a mossad agent who whacks the arab terrorists.

Raid on Entebbe was also good.

Exodus is the best. Followed by Cast a Giant Shadow then Fiddler on the Roof.

Anyone ever see the movie 'Hester Street' ?

Small budget film shot in black and white about a Jewish couple going through a divorce on the Lower East Side of Manhattan around the turn of the century.

Nice mixture of comedy and drama with interesting cultural and historical observations.

In the comedy/romance genre, I enjoyed 'Crossing Delancy'.

The Jewish grandmother was a hoot.

A Walk on the Moon, and Dirty Dancing. Both Catskills movies worth a look. I'm always reminded of going to Kutscher's when watching these!

Really, I've read the book "Our Man in Damascus"... I was unaware it was made into a movie. I think with today's technological resources a movie of that sort would be just fabulous...

Yes, Bugsy is a great gangster film as well. You're right, I forgot Pesci wasn't Jewish in Once Upon A Time In America, but DeNiro, the main character, was Jewish. Brighten Beach Memoirs and Biloxi Blues were pretty good comedies, although Neil Simon's nebishy humor could be borderline self-hating to some. Woody Allen films clearly fall into this category.

I wish they would do more films about the Irgun, The Stern Gang, Betar or heros like Jabotinsky, Begin, Shlomo Ben Joseph, Dov Shilanksy, Jonathan Pollard or Rehavam Ze'evi.

Oh yeah, I also forgot Rocky 3 when we found out Mickey was Jewish. Too bad it was at his funeral service. Priceless seeing Stallone try to speak Hebrew.
