There are two versions--both are really great high energy fuels --methyl ester biodiesel made from methanol and vegetable oil and ethyl esters biodiesel, made from ethanol and vegetable oil. National Renewable Energy Laboratories (NREL) found that the life-cycle energy ratio is greater than 4.0. That means you get over 4 times as much energy out of it as what it takes to make it! Plus, you can make it yourself from used French Fry oil from a fast-food place.


Biodiesel can be used in conventional (diesel) vehicles with no engine alterations. This can take care of your fuel needs right now, if you have a vehicle that burns diesel.
