Mistaken for an Arab today

I'm Ashkenazi but today I was asked if I was an Arab by a complete stranger who worked at a store in the mall. When I replied "No" he appeared stunned and said I looked Arab and that at least one of my parents must be one. He said that he was Lebanese.

Ashkenazi Jews, even though amongst them they differ widely in features, don't typically look like Arabs, yet this is the 5th or 6th time in the last year that someone has mistaken me for one.

Maybe I should learn Arabic and go undercover.

Oh thats just not nice, but goes to prove must don't know that they are talking about. Like Kelly no one has taken me as Arab.

But once an Arab tried to buy me, he offered 3 camels to my husband, I was greatly insulted.

I am worth at least 5!

The purpose of an arab's wife is to HOLD his sheep, goats and camels for him so they don't kick or bite.

I got mistaken for a Turk and an Egyptian, by some Pakistanis. Apparently Pakis are not familiar as to what Egyptians look like....or Turks.
